Batesville, Arkansas (1/23/06) – While many race cars drivers from across the country are still in winter hibernation, some of the Mid America Racing Series’ competitors have been dominating the Super Late Model action in Arizona. Wendell Wallace from Batesville, Arkansas, who finished second in the 2005 M.A.R.S. standings, kicked off the Wild West Shootout at Central Arizona Speedway in Casa Grande, Arizona in fine style by picking up the $3,000 payday. Nights two through four of the Shootout, were dominated by 2005 M.A.R.S. Champion, Terry Phillips from Springfield, Missouri. Along the way Phillips also picked up an Open Wheel Modified feature win. Phillips four collective wins netted him a cool $12,000. The final night of the Wild West Shootout would find Jack Sullivan from Greenbriar, Arkansas (who finished third in the 2005 M.A.R.S. points), picking up his biggest Super Late Model prize ever as he claimed the $7,500 payday. Other drivers, who finished in the top 15 in the 2005 M.A.R.S. point standings, who recorded strong runs in Arizona were Dane Dacus from Lakeland, Tennessee and Brad Looney from Republic, Missouri.

The entire staff of the Mid America Racing Series would like to congratulate all of these drivers for representing the tour in such an impressive fashion. For more information on the Mid America Racing Series visit www.MidAmericaRacingSeries.com .
