M.A.R.S. Prepares For Debut at P.I.R.

Batesville, Arkansas (September 12th, 2006) – After a weekend off, the M.A.R.S. tour will return to action with a huge $6,000 to win event at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Friday, September 15 th.

With only a few events remaining in the 2006 season, three time series’ Champion, Bill Frye, from Greenbriar, Arkansas is the current point’s leader. He currently holds a 48 point lead over Terry Phillips from Springfield, Missouri.

Other M.A.R.S. competitors expected for this weekend include Justin Wells ( Missouri), Jeff Floyd ( Arkansas), Joey Mack ( Missouri), Brandon McCormick ( Missouri), Dane Dacus ( Tennessee), Jeff Taylor ( Arkansas), Steve Rushin ( Missouri), Joey Mack ( Missouri), and Jordan Jones ( Arkansas).

Will Vaught ( Missouri) is the current leader in the 2006 Rookie of the Year standings and will also be in attendance.

The U.M.P. tour will throw several drivers into the mix as they go head to head with the M.A.R.S. competitors on Friday night.

This will mark the first time that the M.A.R.S. tour has competed at Paducah International Raceway. This event was originally scheduled for Friday, August 11th, but was nixed by rain.

Gates will open at 3 p.m. in the pits and 5 p.m. for the grandstands for the return of the “Wayne Coakley/Bob Memmer Memorial USA World 50”. General admission tickets are only $20 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. Utilizing the UMP/MARS Clash format, competitors may only use Hoosier LM 40/55 tires and are subject to a $100 entry fee that is returned to those who participate in all of the evening’s activities but fail to transfer to the A-Main. In addition to the $6,000 UMP/MARS super late model show, the CARS Crate Late Models will be competing for an increased purse that features a $1,200 to win main event and UMP Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks, Outlaw Mini-Sprints and 4-cylinder Warriors will complete the bill.
