Season points leader Todd Hall extended his lead with his third Late Model feature win of the season at the Malden Speedway Friday night. Hall and Allan Rettig opened the race with three full laps of side by side racing before Hall took command. Rettig made a final challenge mid race as the pair encountered lapped traffic, but Hall maintained his lead. Once clear of the traffic, Hall pulled away and had a four second cushion by the checkered flag. Steve Karnes took third followed by Jeff Walston. Dewayne Brooks notched his first top five finish of the year. Rettig and Hall won the heat races also.

Hall's points lead after 9 events stands at a commanding 75 points over second place Steve Karnes.

Larry Hull led from green to checkered in taking his first Modified feature of the year. The early part of the race was a three-way battle between Hull, Bart Richardson, and Claudie Cook. Cook suffered problems and fell back and had to settle for an 8th place finish. Richardson continued his hounding of Hull through 15 laps before Hull began to build a modest lead that he held the rest of the way. Jeff Greene won a fine duel with Jared Wagster to take third. Point's leader Ronnie Vernon took fifth. Heat winners were Tim Radford and Hull.

Vernon's points lead stands at 40 after 10 events. Claudie Cook has moved into sole possession of second place.

Glenn Griffin's long awaited return to Victory lane ended Friday night with an exciting Hobby Stock feature win. Griffin grabbed the lead on the fourth lap following some good three wide racing with Tim Winchester and Claudie Cook. Griffin would lead the rest of the way officially, but Winchester would pull even or ahead in the corners with Griffin having the momentum to retake the lead on the straights. With two laps to go, Griffin asserted himself in the lead and left Winchester to fend for the second spot against hard charging Doug Moore. Moore made the pass coming out of the final turn to take the spot.

Scott Tracer and Cook rounded out the top 5. Griffin and Cook won the heat races.

In a very tight points race, Tim Winchester leads Doug Moore by 14, with Claudie Cook only 22 back after 10 events.

Johnnie Houart won his third Street Stock feature of the year Friday night.
Houart found himself in an early three-way battle with Jeff Beeson and Greg Casey. Casey led the first 3 laps before a flat tire required a pit stop and his relegation to the rear of the field. Although he did not challenge for the lead again, Casey put on a good show as he moved through the field to take fourth. Houart inherited the lead in Casey's absence and was hounded the rest of the way by Beeson and Paul Reeder. A lap 13 caution for debris reset the field, but it was no problem for Houart as he got a good jump and left the race for second be the battle. Reeder edged Beeson to take the spot with one to go. Casey and Allen Boone rounded out the top five. It was Boone's first top five finish of the year. Heat winners were Boone, Casey, and Beeson.

Aaron Darby maintains his commanding points lead by 139 over Paul Reeder for the season.
