Todd Hall became the first two-time winner in Late Models at the Malden Speedway Friday night. Joining Hall in victory lane was Ronnie Vernon with his second Modified win in three weeks. Doug Moore won a very exciting Hobby Stock feature. Paul Reeder cruised to his first feature win of 2004 at the Speedway. Chris and Gene Kelley remained perfect in the Cruiser class.

Todd Hall and Billy James made it a two-car race in the Late Model feature.
As the leaders were approaching lapped traffic, a mid-race caution reset the field. With no traffic to slow him, Todd Hall cruised to the victory.
James held on for second. Steve Karnes, Scott Gibbs and Scott Tracer rounded out the top five. James and Hall were the heat race winners.

Hall's win extends his point's lead to 37 over Steve Karnes.

Ronnie Vernon led from start to finish in a caution filled Modified feature.
Larry Hull won a fine duel with Jeff Cone to take second. Hull moved under Cone coming out of turn two on the 13th lap to take the spot. A final caution flag on lap 15 reset the field, but Vernon had too much for them this night and took the checkered flag for the second time in three weeks.
Shawn Haynes and Robby Arnold rounded out the top five. Heat winners were Vernon, Haynes, and Cone.

Vernon's win puts him atop the season standings, with a 21-point edge over Shawn Haynes. Claudie Cook is third 25 back.

Doug Moore got a second chance in a confusing finish to take the Hobby Stock feature. The lead swapped hands several times the first half of the race with Steve Cunningham settling into the spot by lap 10, following two full laps of side by side racing with Glenn Griffin. A four-car melee in turn three of lap fourteen dropped the caution and set up a green-white-checkered finish to the race. This was the break Moore needed and he came around on the high side out of turn four and won the drag race to the finish to edge Cunningham. Griffin held on for third. Gene Fowler and Billy Kelm rounded out the top five. Heat winners were Cunningham and Griffin.

Moore's win puts him atop the season standings by three over Tim Winchester.
Claudie Cook is 23 back in third place.
