CLEVELAND, Ohio (March 20) – Mallory Ignition becomes title sponsor of both Northern and Southern Stock Car regions as part of IMCA’s new partnership with the Prestolite Performance family of brands.
Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Mallory will furnish a portion of the point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in final 2012 standings for each region. All drivers in the division are required to display two Mallory decals on their race car to be eligible for point fund shares.
The Mallory Northern Region includes sanctioned tracks in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Mallory Southern Region tracks are in California, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah and Texas.
“With all our brands, we are looking to give back to the grassroots racer,” said Prestolite Performance Marketing Manager Jill Hepp, noting Mallory’s 87-year history in motorsports. “We want to get back to what is really our heritage and show our support for drivers at local dirt tracks.”
ACCEL, Lakewood and Mr. Gasket are also part of the Prestolite Performance program; awards from Lakewood and Mr. Gasket are new to IMCA this season.
"The combination of brands under the Prestolite Performance umbrella are very recognizable names in the racing industry and each is well respected,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “The partnership with Mallory certainly is the headliner for our Stock Car division but anyone competing with these products will benefit from a program significantly increased from last season. I urge our Modified, Stock Car and Late Model members to look into their ignition products and make sure they get registered for their awards when they make a purchase."
Mallory gives Hyfire 6AL digital ignition boxes and ACCEL gives a set of 300+ Ferro-Spiral race wires to the top three eligible drivers in each Modified region, both Stock Car regions and in Deery Brothers Summer Series Late Model standings.
Drivers in all three divisions must compete with a Mallory ignition system, display two Mallory and ACCEL decals, and return a signup form to the IMCA home office by Aug. 1.
Lakewood gives a bellhousing and Mr. Gasket a complete set of Ultra-Seal MRG-5991 engine gaskets to each Modified and Stock Car regional champion.
“We really got involved with IMCA in 2010 when we acquired the Quick Time brand,” Hepp said. “We saw the benefit of continuing that association because we have a lot of great products that can benefit IMCA drivers.”
More information about those products is available by calling 216 688-8300 and through the www.mrgasket.com website.
