The checkered flag waved Friday morning on one of this area's finest race track scorers Marion Chasteen.

Our condolences to Marion's family, his wife Judith, son Jon and his wife Fanny, and grandson Aaron.

Visitation will be at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville, IL on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Please take a moment to share a "Marion story" for all to treasure.

I remember Marion as being quiet, confident and very good at what he did. My dad respected everyone he worked with, but there was a deeper respect for Marion. In the professor/pupil manner. I have a feeling, though I never thought to ask dad, I'm certain he would call Marion a mentor and a very close friend.

My deepest condolences Judy and Jon.
