Batesville, Arkansas (April 13, 2004) – After a shortened opening weekend courtesy of Mother Nature, the stars and cars of the O’Reilly Mid America Racing Series (M.A.R.S.) will roar back into action as they thunder through the Ozark Mountains with a triple header this weekend.

Leading the super late model competitors into battle for the weekend will be defending champion, Bill Frye. Frye picked up the win in the 2004 M.A.R.S. series opener at Memphis Motorsports Park and will look to keep his hot streak going as he seeks his fourth series championship. Frye will not find the going easy as he will face a formidable field of competitors including Wendell Wallace, Terry Phillips, Al Purkey, Dewaine Hottinger, Peyton Taylor, Jeff Floyd, Jeff Taylor, Jerry Buck, Steve Rushin, Joey Mack, Leslie Essary, Gary Stolba, and many more super late model stars of the Midwest.

An impressive rookie crop is also taking form to battle for the Kuntz & Company in Association with Rockhard Powder Coating Rookie of the Year. Drivers, who have voiced an intent on running for Rookie of the Year, include (but not limitied to) Jon Mitchell, Dustin Mooneyham, Brandon McCormick, and Peyton Taylor. After this weekend’s events there should be a clearer picture of who intends to run for the rookie honors.
