Pontoon Beach, IL (April 18, 2006) Some of the Midwest's best dirt late model drivers converge on Tri-City Speedway on Sunday, April 30th for the MARS vs. UMP Clash. It will also mark the first event of the 2006 racing season on the big 1/2 mile dirt oval at Tri-City Speedway.
Many of the top MARS (Mid-American Racing Series) racers such as Terry Phillips, Wendell Wallace, Bill Frye and many more are expected to be on hand to compete with the top UMP (United Midwestern Promoters) drivers such as Randy Korte, Shannon Babb and Billy Drake. There willalso be an autograph session from 4:00pm to 4:45pm.
UMP Modifieds, UMP Sportsman, Street Stocks and Factory Stocks will all also be in competition as they will compete on the 1/4 mile oval at Tri-City Speedway. General Admission will be $20 and kids 6-12 will be $10. Kids 5 and under will be free.
Pit gates will open at noon and the grandstand gates will open at 4:00pm. Hotlaps will get under way at 5:30pm and racing begins at 6:00pm.
Tri-City Speedway is located just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, MO in Pontoon Beach, IL. Take exit 4 off I-270 and go 1/2 mile south on SR 203.
