Dirt Nation Spans The Country Monday Night

This Monday evening on Dirt Nation presented by Switchme.net special guests come from all across the country and will include one veteran championship dirt Late Model racer along with two up-and-coming dirt Late Model stars in addition to a Mini Stock racer who also happens to be a racing radio show co-host and a chief of police. All four will be joining the ‘Rat Pack’ on the radio for the November 8, 2004 edition. Western superstar Larry McDaniels will be making his first appearance on Dirt Nation. McDaniels, of Valley Center, Kansas drives the Tri Machine Inc., Pro Motorsports, Bontrager Powder Coating sponsored GRT Race Cars/Kuntz Racing Engines #50B. McDaniels, who spent time racing with the NDRA in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, is an eight time NCRA dirt Late Model champion and also owns three consecutive TORA championship titles.

Also appearing will be Illinois top gun racer Billy Drake of Bloomington, IL. A Illinois State University graduate in finance, Drake drives the ICC Automotive & Diesel Technology, Mark Steidinger Construction, Ultimate Detail sponsored Mastersbilt Racer Cars/Mullvain Motorsports Racing Engines #9. Drake is a former winner of the Herald & Review 100, World 50, USA 50, Kevin Roderick Memorial, Prairie Dirt Classic in addition to Renegade Dirt Car Series and MACS Late Model Series wins. Drake finished ninth in the 2004 UMP Stacker 2 Xtreme Dirt Series championship points chase.

Patrick Sheltra, “Mr. Showtime”, the 18-year-old phenom out of Indiantown, FL, will also appear. The young gunslinger with three years of racing behind him has turned heads and captured the attention of race fans this season when Sheltra and the Sheltra & Sons Construction owned Brady Ranch, Stimmel’s Sport Shop, B&K Sportswear sponsored CJ Rayburn/Clements Racing Engines #23 crisscrossed the interstates of America gathering experience and laps. Sheltra finished fifth in UMP Southern Xtreme Dirt Series points and raced at tracks in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia, Illinois, Indiana and other states. Among the other sanctions and series Sheltra competed with in 2004 were UMP, World of Outlaws Late Model Series, MACS, Northern Allstars Late Model Series, Sunoco ALMS, NLMS, NARA Battle of the Bluegrass and the Carolina Clash.



Also appearing will be Ryan Pearson, 28, a Mini Stock racer who is also the co-host of Chuck Griffith’s Thrills On Wheels radio show in Ohio. Pearson also happens to be the Chief of Police in the town of Dalton, OH, the youngest Chief of Police in Ohio history. Pearson races a Ford Escort GT #21a, the police code for ‘In Pursuit’ at Wayne County Speedway and Lakeville Speedway and is sponsored by Ogle’s Auto Sales, Ward’s Lawn Mowing Service Plus, Dave Sword Stump Removal, Canton Auto Repair and Towing, Hoffman’s Automotive, Jims Transmission and Service and Fought Signs.
