dont worry you will have problems with them as well.i am a mile from fultons track and i refuse to put a car out there.i drive by there every week when we race and it is a shame.Fulton is another track that has gotten way out of hand...i personally like MCS better, less stuff gets tore up for sure.My only complaint with MCS is they need to get mels dad and the mrs. the hell out of there and let mel do his duties.i have never been wronged by mel,and when i was wronged mel would man up and do something about it..sad thing is mel loves the sport but he is loosing his heart for it cause of his ol' man, thats what i see!!

hes been racing there since it was open and everything he said was the truth!! ya i dont always agrees what goes on with certain things but MEL works his butt off every week trying to get the track nice! and in dirt track racing your not going to make money unless you are really good! it should be for fun and when its done being fun or you cant afford it anymore thats when you quit not get on here complaining and whining every week! if you want change then change it because whining on here isnt going to change anything its just going to lower the car count which lowers the purse which lowers the fans see my point! so instead of constantly down grading has anyone ever thought of telling mel thanks??? seriously! its not perfect NO and yes i do disagree alot what goes on in the office but theres obviously nothing we can do about that besides find someone to buy the track!so until you find someone to do that theres nothing we can do! jmo!!!!!!

yeah shannon deffinatly agree 110% and he does work his butt off to give US racers a fun night.
almost everyone that races at MCS knows they are doing it out of pure heart for the race and not for payout. I have no sponsers and buy everything for my truck and usually on a good weekend spend 50 bucks and get 30 in return. and im ok with that. its a HOBBY. If you guys keep talkin trash on the track why not put your bid in for buying it? see for yourself how hard it is to keep up with the track and maintain it. its more than a full time job. give the guy some credit, he works is butt off every week so we can get out there and have a fun and enjoyable saturday night, and lately i would say its the safest track havent had any bad wrecks lately.

Montgomery County Mafia is Bad but Rebel Racing is Good in Mels/Dels World?????

We all agree The old folks are gonna kill the track, but Mel could help guarantee he couldnt pick my husband out of a line up and we've supported this track for 5 years.

mel does have a huge heart and does a great job with what he has! i love mcs dont get me wrong i have been there since litterly day one and maybe have missed 5 races the tracks amazing and atmosphere is awesome and the fans you couldnt ask for better!!!! the racers are the closest and most faithful friends you will ever find. and like jim said low car count = low pay you want to complain about money get guys to come if you cant then dont complain what are they supposed to do?! if theres not enough cars theres not enough cars!!!!!

mcs 30$ pitpass mods 500$ to win 30$ to start tri city 25$ pitpass 700$ to win 100$ to start just one example = no cars = no fans .take care of your drivers keep cars at the track = PEOPLE IN THE STANDS . lower prices @ pay drivers fairly cars will come @ so will people.maybe a little promotion or a special event and you might turn things around. if you dont do somhting its over its like going to a bad movie over @ over again.love the track @ mel truley tries @works his but off @ is usaly the first to stick up for the drivers . 8jr

if you come to fulton on friday nights(i and i know your wife wants to!) you better plan on staying there and having a little fun with us , we have been staying there till the sun comes up !!! hey once in a while a race breaks out :D (i love both tracks)

when u go to the lake of the ozarks if u dont make the amain they give u a free pass the next week. if u get rained out mcs they dont even give u free pass next week thats what brings ur racers and fans back.

no one here is bashing mel. but what you are saying is its the drivers job to promote the track? its our job to get drivers to come? and its our job to help out? what do you think we have been doing for the last few years. have you ever seen dell at the drivers meeting? of course not, if he showed the drivers would start asking questions and his answere would be tough luck i'll close it down. all dell wants to do is take money at the gate.
i have given bikes away, handed out fliers in wentzville, donated my payout to help lawyer fees, had my sponsors add to the purse for races, and helped get the pit area ready after a rain. the only promoter dell has is trashdog, who does the best job he can considering who he has to work for. i'm not asking for lots of money, only a fair payout that is posted so all can see what they get with what car count is there. and not be treated as a liability to the track. i love the track and have been there for 5 years as a owner, and before as a fan, its not the track i'm knocking its the way it has been ruined by mgmt. who don't care.

Mel

I for one know the track has run itself on a downwerd spiral last two years after the old man took control . Mel does not have control an I know Mel health is in very very poor, He himself told me what was wrong . I think we should pray for Mel an the track to come back to there old self. 29s Ministock. Hope to see you soon.

I'm not a racer at mcs at the time but my husband and I are there every weekend and have been going there for 2 years now. I love going to the track and enjoy taking my kids. They are big fans of the Wellsville MAFIA guys and Shannon Johns. But this year hasn't been as fun as it has been in the past. We have heard the Wellsville MAFIA guys have been banned unless they remove stickers. And i really don't think that is fair because they have alot of fans there every weekend. And they are always there when there is a wreck on the track or if someone needs help. And they are really great to the kids who come out to watch the races. Unlike some of the other drivers out there. you can really tell who is there for the fans and who's not!!!!!!!!:(

I want to start out by saying I do love MCS and Mel, he’s like family. As well as the drivers. I have been racing at this track almost every Saturday since 2003. We invite everyone we know in a 100 mile area to come watch the races and have gotten a lot of die hard fans that come every week. We’ve put our cars in parades and passed out flyer to promote the track. We have invited every racer we meet and go on and on about how great of a track it is. However it is embarrassing when they do come. The drivers are talked down to like they are a liability. Any concern or complaint or question is met with a smug shrug of the shoulders or the famous “go somewhere else if you don’t like it”. I’m a grown man -Take that Montgomery County Mafia sticker off “because I said so” just don’t work with me. I’m not going to say I’ll never be back. The second things change and drivers are given a little respect for what they put into the track I will be back for good. Until then I will be at Fulton Fridays, Maybe the Lake on Saturdays and Sundays I have been having a great time in Quincy (fyi you get $75 back just for making the heat and pit pass is only $20!!) Your right it’s not about the money (although every penny helps) its about respect and that’s the lesson Del needs to learn. But I would not hold your breath I’ve seen the way he talks to his own family, let alone complete strangers, and it’s a pretty sad situation.

We haven't been able to get up there much this year, so it's sad to hear what's happening. We too have raced there since nearly day one and have seen changes, but just looking at the weekly car count indicates something is terribly wrong this year.Used to be around 100+ cars in the pits and over 30 in our class (B Mods) alone.Last week I saw there were 12. Maybe the weather was the problem last Saturday and kept some home.
We enjoy racing there and although the payouts were sometimes meager,we still accepted it as the cost of racing. The dilema we have always had running B mods, is that there are very few tracks that run them,so we had little choice. The fact is we'll probably be back because we enjoy the track.

I am confused about the Montgomery County Mafia sticker thing, what's that all about?

For things to be like they used to, before Del took things over, this is what i think would have to happen......

Del would have to finally close the track,
I say that bcuz as long as it's open he making a little profit an thats all he is worried about.

After he finally closes it, the track will become "useless" to him bcuz he wont be making money an he is to much of a tight @$$ with money to spend anything to TRY to do anything with the prop. So he will have to sell it or have someone buy out his half.

The track will have to be bought by someone, they reopen MCS under the supervision of Mel (who actually wants the track there an supports it) && new management an things are back to normal, car counts back up, payout is right, drinking till dawn, fans flood the stands, we can go back to doing our fun stuff like 50/50 && bike give aways, halloween parties, fund raisers, car shows, an lower the prices of pit passes back down..........

(An as far as the montgomery county mafia, everyone in moco knows what it is, so when they see a truck driving around town an see the sticker, its like free promotion, that are dumb as heck to tell ya to take them off, its not like they promote the track themselves!!!)

ya the track does need to be taken over and i never said it was our jobs to promote the track but if everyone gets on here whining every week ya its gonna push people away then that equals lower pay! obviously! and jake the crap that happened to you is just stupidity!!!!! i wouldnt take the sticker off thats just childish on his part! im sad to hear you wont be back because i love your family and you and you are one hell of a racer!!!!!!!! actually could i get a sticker even though im not from moco! wright city is kinda close! but ya i do wish things the way they were and if everyone loves mcs as much as they say try and find someone to buy out del! i know me and my dad are asking anyone we can! its a great track with some great people! if you got a question ask mel he will tell you if not someone else will!!! its sad to see it all going down hill so fast!
~~shannon~~

ill make the MCS Mafia stickers for anyone that wants them free of charge..hows del like that!!!!!!!!!

There is only one way I see for a track to get back to good car counts and good profitability. That is to advertise a good guaranteed payout and be willing or able to lose until it works its way back. The way it seems MCS doesn't have that ability. I have nothing against MCS or anyone there. As a matter of fact, I've only been there once since it opened. I have heard that Mel's dad is a piece of work. Might ought of think about not having him in the running and dealing with people. Nobody likes an A**hole. But, given the circumstances, the way I see it what they have is what they have. I can't see it getting better. I hope something can be done, tracks are dropping like flies these days. Is the track safe from people wanting to get it closed? If so, maybe someone with deep pockets could save the place. If the price was right.

BTW..... those who will race for free..... PM me I'll give you my address and you can mail me your checks...... No matter how small! ;)
