Wheatland, MO (August 26th, 2007)-Jeff Schlup captured his second win in a row in the Miller Lite ULMA Late Models, while a jubilant Rex Merritt grabbed the winner's trophy in the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds as The Index presented Hickory County Night at The Lucas Oil Speedway on August 25th, 2007. The TCI Transmission Factory Stock winner's hardware was handled by Keith Webster with Jay Prevete holding back all challengers to win the main event for the Chester Fried Chicken Hobby Stocks.

Jeff Schlup from California, Missouri started in Row #2 after finishing second in his heat but worked his way into the lead in the Miller Lite ULMA Late Model Feature only to see the orange and yellow machine of Harlen Kennedy working the high line and closing quickly. Kennedy had come from the tenth starting spot and found the high groove to his liking but he may have waited a little too long to go to the top allowing Schlup to grab the win. Kennedy would end up second with Danny Lorton third, Paul Neel fourth, and Jamestown, Missouri's Walt Imhoff in fifth. Rylan Long took the white flag running third but a spin in turn two after racing contact would relegate him to a 12th place finish. Kevin Kaiser ended up 11th in the feature after being involved in an accident in his heat race, as A.L. Barbour spun in front of the field on the opening lap of the heat race and collected Kaiser causing heavy front end damage to his Ince Chassis. Kaiser's recent string of bad luck has allowed Schlup to move past him into second spot in the season point's standings only 44 markers behind Long with just one race remaining. Kaiser sits in third, 51 points back. Heat Race winners on the evening were Long and Andy Kennedy. J.D. Hubert sat out this week as recent engine troubles forced him to the sidelines without an engine for tonight's races.

As snippets of three wide racing from the Bristol Nextel Cup race played on the Lucas Oil Speedway Jumbotron, an forgettable three wide battle was taking shape in the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds as Jeff Cutshaw, Rex Merritt, and Eric Turner staged a classic contest for nearly the entire race as Merritt held the bottom, Cutshaw on the top, and Turner bottled up somewhere in the middle. It was a euphoric Rex Merritt taking the win with Cutshaw second, and Turner third. Gary Clark had a strong run in his Dirtworks Chassis finishing in fourth with Johnny Fennewald rounding out the Top 5. Merritt's win now puts him back to a comfortable 58 point lead over Turner in the season point's battle with only one race remaining next week to settle the championship. Modified heat race winners were Merritt, Cutshaw, and Jason Pursley. Luke Feeback captured the win in the B-Feature to advance to the 20-lap A-Main.

The closest point's battle at the speedway took a twist this week as Keith Webster grabbed the win in the TCI Transmission Factory Stocks and the point lead. Troy Reasoner Jr. had come into the event with a 12 point lead but a broken tie rod and subsequent pounding of the white tractor tire in turn #4 would drop him to a 16th place finish with Webster now taking a 17 point lead into the final night of racing as Champions in all classes will be crowned on September 1st. Big Al Thompson captured the second spot in the feature event with Humboldt, Kansas' Craig Mintz running a strong third. Sheldon Stoufer and Larry Page took the fourth and fifth spots respectively. Al Thompson and Reasoner Jr. captured heat race wins.

Windsor, Missouri's Jay Prevete swooped into the Lucas Oil Speedway and captured the win in the Chester Fried Chicken Hobby Stocks as 16 of the finest Hobby Stocks in the region were on hand. Jimmy Steward was second with Kyle Smith third, Tanner Young fourth, and Daniel Sleeper fifth. Sleeper and Prevete captured Heat Race wins. Adam Belt continues to hold a slim 14 point lead over Michael Schrader in the season point's battle.
