Michael Waltrip Racing, Clint Boyer, NASCAR

its what you get with 5 teams running the show. Its still a bit of free rein as to who wins but it seems that the networks only highlight 10 cars through the whole event and 1 of those 10 is gonna win for sure. Do you really think theres not any team orders? The fact that Newmans guys got him out late is somthing other teams had no control over to say the least.
 
Team orders (teammates pitting) is one thing. Intentionally spinning under those circumstances is a new low.
NASCAR has had almost as much credibility as WWE (and UMP) for a long time.
 
There shouldn't be a so called"chase" anyway,,I think if you don't qualify in the top 43,,go home and do your homework for next week. You wouldn't have all this drama if it was run like it used to be..
 
NASCAR has had their own intentional yellows for so called "debris" to keep certain drivers from going a lap down or to setup a close finish for years now.. About the same thing here.
 
If NASCAR really wanted to get every team's attention they would take Bowyer out of the Chase and give his spot to Gordon. That would end all this crap once and for all!
 
Drivers have been doing stuff all season to help their teammates get bonus points and NASCAR has their phantom cautions so I think it's kind of dumb to penalize him for this....it's not like he wrecked someone he just caused a caution....kind of like when a certain driver threw a bottle out to get a caution.

And if they take Bowyer out and put Gordon in you will have half the fans saying that NASCAR is protecting their boy and rigging it for Gordon.
 
if that was the case they would have not even gone to the chase format . i believe jeff would already have 6 0r 7 championships already if it wasn't for the chase . ill have to look at the points and figure it out . bring backs the 90s era of NASCAR !
 
What Bowyer did is no different then imaginary yellows or team members letting their team mate pass them for leading a lap bonus points (which both are usually obvious when the announcers say "did you see the clean up crews pick up anything" or so n so let's his team mate lead that lap to get the bonus points for leading a lap). Is NASCAR going to start doing anything about that NO!!!! And true... if Clint hadn't of spun, Gordon would of probably made that Chase instead of Truex.....Gordon probably would of made it if he hadn't pit on the caution also!!
 
Dave34, you are right about that- lots of fans think the Hendrick teams get special treatment already. What bothers me most about all this is not just Bowyer's spin, but that Ty Norris also told Vickers AND Bowyer to pit to move Logano up 2 spots.
 
Not a Gordon fan but what NAPCAR should of done was set the chase from the moment the caution for the spin. They know something up or they wouldn't of made the call. Now with the Penske and Front Row, I don't see alot happening there. This kind of stuff has been going on since the start of the chase, just not so blatant.
 
Well just announced Gordon is in! Front row and Penske are on probation for the rest of the year but Gordon is in due to circumstances beyond his control to gain the necessary points needed to get in.
 
Mandatory meeting tomorrow with all crew chiefs and teams about the rules and regulations as well as future punishment that can and will be given out.
