Is this intentional spin that far off from watching a car intentionally stall due to bad start at local tracks? I see it happen all of the time. It is a grey area in the rules so why not do it.

Does NASCAR have a rule on intentional spinning or choosing when you can and can't pit?

I remember Dale Jr spiningg once on purpose. If i remember right he threw his gloves on the track once as well to cause a yellow

Ive never seen the official rulebook for Nascar. Ive looked for it and seen bits and pieces of it but never the full run down. Dont think its available to the public. I could be wrong.

If I remember correctly, the first year Gordon won a championship he went into the last race of the year needing to finish 42nd or better to clinch. Hendrick put another car in the race that Jeff Purvis qualified. On the first lap, they brought him into the pits so he would go a lap down so they could park him if Gordon was the first one out. Gordon went on to win a well deserved championship fair and square but what is the difference between what Hendrick put themselves in position to do and what these other drivers did?

i don't see the difference in Vickers pitting and a team letting another teammate lead a lap and giving the lead back to him

Nascar is the only one that can manipulate the outcome of a race! lol I wonder if when they put that rule (actions detrimental to nascar) in the rule book years ago it could be so valuable? Man they have made a killing off of that rule! What foresight they had! The coffers are running over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My personal opinion is for the last race before the chase "have at it-anything goes". Nascar is getting to be a real bad joke-it
is all VANILLA racing-follow the leader no passing. I say take the damn downforce away from them-get the front end 8 inches off the track-put hard tires on them and make them drive them. Also come up with a point structure that awards points for passing. You have to do something to get the excitement back into it, afterall Nascar says that it is entertainment-bad at that.
