BELLEVILLE, Ill. --
Exciting midget and winged 600 c.c. micro sprint auto racing returns to the Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, IL on Sunday July 11th for the annual Shannon Finley Memorial. The midgets, sanctioned by the Midwest Auto Racing Association will compete in the second of four events scheduled this summer at the popular fifth mile bullring located just across the Mississippi River east of St. Louis.
The first event of the 2004 Gateway Open Wheel Racing Series saw 28 midgets and 55 micro sprints do battle with Mike Hess from Petersburg, Illinois taking the midget main while Derek O'dell from East Alton, Illinois took home first place honors in the micro sprint feature.
Pit Gates will open at 3:00. Spectator gates will open at 5:00. Hot laps will hit the track at 6:00. The first race is scheduled for 6:30. Grantstand admission is just $12. Children under ten will be admitted free of charge. Pit passes are $25.
