Midway Fireworks Action Provide 5 New Winners As Breedlove And Joiner Grab First Ever Wins

Lebanon,Mo.-With over 100 cars in the pits and a capacity crowd to witness fireworks and racing action,5 new drivers grabbed their first LebanonMidwaySpeedway wins of 2008 while Keith Breedlove and Bill Joiner captured their 1st ever feature wins.
The USRA Modifieds brought 23 superfast Cars to the action track as Greg Hughes brought the field to the green with Jimmy Willis along side of him.Hughes grabbed the early lead while Willis,Jamie Ragland,Tony Jackson Jr and Johnny Bone Jr following and swapping position.On lap 8,Bone made the low groove stick to take control while Hughes,Jackson,Willis,Ragland,Josh Hughes,Rex Merritt and Eric Hudson were battling 3 wide.On lap 13,the caution waved while Ragland headed for the pits.On the restart Bone and Greg Hughes went to battle again as Jackson Jr,Merritt and point leader Eric Hudson who started 11th battled for third place.a lap 18 caution involving Merritt,Hudson and Jimmy Willis bunched the field again as Bone again pulled away on the restart as Justin Neuman and Jason Pursley were coming quickly along with Brad McKinnon were coming forward.In the losing laps,Bone pulled away to capture his first ever Midway feature win with Jackson grabbing the runner-up spot followed by early leader Hughes,Jason Pursley and McKinnon completed the top 5 while 16 of the 23 starters were on the lead lap.
The SuperStock feature would see a 1st time ever career winner As Bill Joiner brought the field to the Green grabbing the early lead with 16 year old Dwight Niehoff close behind.The yellow waved on lap 4 for Rick Hill and Dan Newell as point leader Ben Newell had charged from 7th to grab the third place position.On the restart Joiner kept his car glued to the bottom while Niehoff and Newell were applying lots of pressure as Larry Prewett began a charge to the top 3.Out in Front Bill Joiner was driving the race of his life as Niehoff and Newell stayed glued to his bumper.On lap 14,Newell went around Niehoff to take the runner-up spot,but Joiner wasn't to be denied as he took his First ever win with B.Newell,Niehoff,Prewett and last weeks winner JC Newell following.
Another 1st time ever winner was in the WingedSprint class as the opening lap would find current point leader and defending champion JP Compton and Dakota Carroll get together with Compton going end over end ending his night along with the young lady Carroll's evening.
On the restart John Wagner Jr grabbed the early lead and then Scott Wedelstadt took over on lap 2.Wedelstadt would hold the lead until lap 5 when Keith Breedlove took to the high groove and grabbed control.Out in front Breedlove never looked back as a tight battle for second place between Wedelstadt,J Kinder,Tom McGarry and Kenny Potter developed.Breedlove would set a fast pace the remaining laps to grab his first ever feature win with Wedelstadt,Kinder,Potter and McGarry at the stripe.
The Factorystock feature had Mark Davis take the early lead,but Doug Rich made the move on lap 2 to take over as side by side action continued.On lap 4,Dusty Rhoads made the low groove stick and never looked back in recording his first win of the season as Doug Rich,Tommy Lewis,Derek Brown and Tim Petty completed the top 5 in an action packed feature event.
The Bomber feature again provided lots of action and close racing as Wayne Coffman grab the opening lead with Joe Francis applying lots of pressure along with Rodney Yost.7th starting Rob White starting his march to the front and on lap 5 White overtook Coffman to take the lead and never looked back in recording his first win of the 2008 season as Joe Francis,Rodney Yost,early leader Coffman and point leader Brandon Knudtson completed the top 5.
The B-Mod feature saw the early stages of the race with 3 wide racing as John Gamble took the opening lead for 3 laps before Josh Woody took over the lead with veteran Earl Muilenburg running a strong second place.Woody would set a fast pace until lap 8 when 7th starting Steve Muilenburg came charging through the field bringing last weeks winner Kenny Dickinson with him in the pack along with current point leader Jason Otto.Muilenburg wasn't to be denied as he left the field to battle for second place.Muilenburg would go on to record his second B-Mod win of the season with a tight race for second would see Ken Dickinson,Jason Otto,Jeff Albright Jr and Josh Woody completing the top 5 over the 22 car field.
Up next at the Midway will be the 2nd annual Larry Phillips Birthday Bash featuring the SuperLateModels Challange race between the MARS and DLRA Series along with points races for USRA Modifieds,Superstocks,B-Mods,Bombers and FactoryStocks.
Gates will open at 5 with racing at 8PM Sharp.
