Actually all D.C. stick welders can be tig welders. This welder will do what is called "scratch start tig" which is used through out the construction world. It will work for general fab and repair. It will not however do aluminum, which requires a high frequency box.
I sell welders and gas for a living. Don't know this guy that has this, however I would think this is a good deal if it it what you are looking for.
