Vaughn Charges To MLRA Victory At Adrian!!

Alan Vaughn, the reigning 3 time O'Reilly MLRA Champion used a 7th starting spot to charge to victory over John Anderson at the tight 1/4 mile dirt track in Adrian, Missouri. CJ Lyle took the early at the drop of the green. The race was slowed 2 twice before 3 laps where complete do to two multiple car spins. After the clean up, Lyle built a nice lead over pole sitter, David Turner. Vaughn was able to make his way up to front by using the low side of the track. He caught with Lyle and they battled for a couple of laps until a lap car pinned Lyle on the side long enough for Vaughn to shoot past and into the lead he never gave up. Lyle, battling with John Anderson sustained some damage and had to retire from the race. Anderson continued on. Following Vaughn to the checkers where, Anderson, Jason Bodenhamer, after starting 12 and being involed in the second meloy of the night. Fourth was Turner and fifth was Gary Webb. Next up for the O'Rielly MLRA Super Late Model Series is the Alphabit Soup race with the NCRA and WDRL at Nebraska Raceway Park in Greenwood, Ne.
In other action Kenny Furgeson won the Street Stock race over Josh Poe. 3rd went to the #31 followed by the 74 and the 22 in fourth and fifth. In the Pure Stock race, Jerry Summers and Matt Brown battled side by side the entire win Summers gaining the lead for good going down the back stretch after taking the white flag. Folloing Summers and Brown where, Darrin Christy in 3rd. 4th went to Greg Choate and rounding out the top five was the #68. Next on the Adrian schedule will a weekly race featuring the Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Pure Stocks.
