MLRA/NCRA & WoW 360 Sprints, Sunday Aug 22 at MO State Fair - Kevin Gundaker back in a Late Model

There is still one more night of exciting action scheduled during the 2010 Missouri State Fair, which will take place Sunday evening, August 22 when the MLRA and NCRA super late models come rolling into town along with the Winged Outlaw Warriors 360 Sprint Cars! Admission gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 and racing at 6. General admission for Sunday is $18, Senior Citizens (65+) and Military w/I.D. $15, Kids 6 - 12: $8, Kids 5 and under are free.

During MLRA’s last appearance at the track on June 25, a stellar feature event unfolded on the big half-mile track between eventual winner Terry Phillips and runner-up finisher Eric Turner in what many remember as being one of the best late model races in recent memory. With the re-scheduling of the Topless 100 in Batesville, Terry Phillips and Jeremy Payne, both feature winners at State Fair this year, will not be on hand for the race. Who will be the next driver to step up their game and visit victory lane? Some drivers to watch for according to MLRA’s website at www.mlraracing.com include Dave Eckrich, Brad Looney, Al Purkey, Joe Kosiski, Chris Spieker, Bill Koons, Chad Simpson, and Evan Hubert. Drivers will have to battle previous Subway Late Model feature winners at the speedway from this year including Alan Vaughn, David Turner, and Matt Johnson. Joining the MLRA super late models in the co-sanctioned event will be the NCRA super late models. According to NCRA’s website at www.ncraracing.org, drivers currently residing at the top of the point standings or who have competed this year with NCRA, include point leader Kelly Boen, Cory Zeitner, Kyle Berck, Gary Christian, Mike Wiarda, Delbert Smith, and Denny Eckrich.

Also on Sunday, “Professional Freestyle Motocross Rider” Cowboy Kenny Bertram and Xtreme rider Terry Russell of Jefferson City, MO will thrill the crowd with high-flying action on their motorcycles! Sprint Car fans always look forward to the Missouri State Fair championship races for winged action and the Winged Outlaw Warriors (WoW) drivers will provide the action to them this year as the 360 drivers close out the fair races Sunday evening. Randy Martin, Jonathan Cornell, Kyle Hurst, Mark Shirshekan, Mike Trent, Josh Fisher, Jack Dover, Rusty Potter, Brad Graham, and local favorite Brian Brown have all registered top-five finishes at the speedway during Rick Ball Ford 360 Sprint Car Racing this year. Top contenders on the travelling circuit according to the official home of WoW racing on the internet at www.wowsprints.homestead.com are Fisher, Potter, Chris Walker, Austin Alumbaugh, Curtis Boyer, Frank Brown, Tony Crank, Dakota Carroll, and Martin. Cornell, Dover, Martin, Alumbaugh, and Shirshekan have already visited WoW victory lane this year. Additional drivers who’ve made WoW appearances this season include Mitchell Moore, Tyler Blank, Terry Hink, Kyle Bellm, Jon Corbin, and Cody Baker.
