I know this is a learning experience for you guys but for all the good from opening night you took several steps back with last nights program. It almost seemed as if you just locked the gates after first night and reopened them yesterday. 1) If you had transponder issues the first night you had 2 weeks to resolve the problem but it still was a problem causing a huge delay in the program. 2) the track went slick during hotlaps. 3) changing the rules during a race regarding cautions. 4) the program was drug out. Yes it was cold but we were there to see racing and when there is racing you tend to forget about the cold, however with all the downtime the fans in the stands were not real happy. I am not trying to beat you all up just think there was more harm than good done last night.

Hey jim u want to save on are motor but what about tires I went threw 2 tires last night and let me guess randy u were there everyday ha. If u want the track right turn out right u need to turn it over water goes in the ground. Or why dont u a play date and get ur transponder workin right

Not that I think jim really cares I was there with 8 other people and I am sure because they told me they or myself will not be coming back

Guys don't get me wrong, I want the track to survive, I was just pointing things out to them that they obviously didn't see. It requires a lot of work to operate a track, much like when we come home from work and spend all the hours in the evening working on the race cars. However this is his investment and I'm just saying what I seen from the stands. The transponder issue, if u put one on one of the junk trucks and drive it around the track you can tell if it is working. As far as the track it needs to be worked and worked, we all know that. And lastly as far as the rule changes and the program, that was all management. Step up, you don't need more failures like last night.

Well time for my 2 cents worth here! Yes I am the front gate guy who lines up the cars before they come in and I'm not afraid to put my name on here or tell you what I do there. Now as far as the racetrack goes, I think Jim needs to let Craig &Darren water the track instead of someone else, if he gives those guys a shot at it I think it will be a 2 or3 groove track. Secondly yes it was dryslick last night after qualifying but I think every track at least once a year is like this and you burn up sets of tires. Nobody likes to drive on pavement at a dirt track. I'm sure they will get the transponder deal fixed, if not just do a pill draw and keep the show rolling. Hopefully these guys get a shot at watering and it will be better next week. Thanks,Tony Halbrook

Had 9 late models, dq'ed 2 and keep the money.... Pay 5 bucks a week for broken transponders. Got there at 5pm and the first heat race started at 6:50. To many hot laps. Tough to support this track... Jmo

When there's electronic problems at work it shuts everything down and IT has to take care of it. Takes forever, usually.
I've been to plenty of races where transponders have delayed progress. If the delays keep you from coming back then you will be out of tracks to go to by the end of the season. I'm sure every track in the country will have a miserable delay or 2 at some point. Moon cancelled last week and got bashed. He raced no matter what this week and gets bashed. Being a critic is way too easy.
I'm glad someone is willing to go through this crap to give us a place to race. I think moon and crew are doing a great job. Track was racey, pits were fantastic considering all the rain last week, spectator race was cool, and I heard the burgers were great.
I would rather point out the good on here in hopes of the track surviving. It will get better and better. And if you have a problem or concern you should talk to Jim in person. That would be dignified.

I agree completely. I'm glad the track is back open and I feel they're doing a fine job, though a few things don't really make sense to me.

I don't understand the need for the $5 pill draw when hot laps are qualifying laps. It would make sense to me to just call a class to stageing and let 8 cars at random on the track then score them appropriately to set the field for the heat races. Seems like the current way is just to bilk racers for an extra couple of bucks.

Also, the $5 "rental" for the transponder is iffy. Seems like its a necessity to race (when they work), so a rental is really not an option, unless they are universal and you could buy your own and give the track your code. If you can, it would streamline the process of sign up because the code would always be attached to your car #, rendering the need to link the transponders to the car every week unnecessary ( I heard that this was part of the problem last Saturday).

It would also be benificial to have a pre-planning meeting with track officials in the event of mishaps. Remember the motto, "Improvise, adapt, and overcome", and all this negative publicity will either fade away or knowledgable folks will defend the track.

I personally like what's happening with the commitment to the fact that they are "walking the talk" with post race tech inspections, though the hot pit area in the street stock feature was exactly that, it was HOT, several times we had to scramble to avoid a potential danger when a car lost control and bounded into the infield. I think the concept is good because it will keep the race moving along, as well as giving the fans something to watch while a caution is thrown. One idea on this concept though, not all teams have 40' enclosed trailers and hauling a four wheeler to the track to move tires and such to the hot pit area is impossible, much less removal of tires and tools after race, due to the immediate impounding of cars for tech. So, how about a track pickup or something so pit crews could all pile their gear on it pre race to get the stuff in and out of the infield before and after race. I know this is wishful thinking, however, just spitballing here might plant a seed to track officials to help them develop policies and services to make the show even more enjoyable to the spectators.

I raced there in 07 & 08 when mell ran the track , most nights it was dry slick . I myself liked it that way .

Was not tires... Although that would have been funny. Two of the top 5 drivers in the LM's didn't go to the tech area after they scaled.

the track promoter and track reps are working hard to get everything as it should be. the transponder was just installed so give it a break it was hired in to install so it will get right. as far as the same old people that want to complain day in and out give it a break your not hurting anyone except yourself in your eyes it would matter who was running the place you would still be whinning. everyone was told at the drivers meeting top 5 out of each feature goes across the scales then straight to tech pin seems some people wasn't paying attention who's fault is that the track NOT.

Don't understand why you have to rent a transponder when they didn't work, some guys paid $10 others paid $5 which was odd. When you pill draw some had no numbers on them and had to keep drawing. The track was slick and smooth but ate tires up. The cars were dq'ed because they didn't go to tech to have the compound of tires checked. The tech guy stands by scales, why could he not check them before going on scales. Most places check tires when on scales or before races. The situation could of been handled a lot different, now he lost cars that will not return.
