Mobery Speedway??

Cool might make the trip to the far north. MMP is adding ASCS a couple times a month, maybe those weeks the lates May be off. Was thinking keeping cars ulma legal for Moberly, but west Burlington would be fun too!

"My guess is the lack of consistent support from ULMA to Callaway Raceways makes them not want to deal with that again. Most weeks they were just a hassle to deal with."

I guess I'm a little confused as to this statement and I'm not being a jerk here but please let us know what kind of hassle did ULMA cause to the raceway?

ULMA charges NO sanctioning fee to any track. On most nights we did the tech'ing of cars ourselves when we were able to have an official present. ULMA officials are non-paid personnel that do their best to get to each of the tracks. It’s my firm belief that if it weren't for ULMA there would be no late model racing at all in that and other areas. ULMA would in fact like to see Callaway Raceways make ULMA membership mandatory and show full support for the association. ULMA also wishes the track would not allow cars to just drop in and run when they are not in compliance with the set rules.

I feel the question must be imposed that do people honestly think that series officials from other sanctioning bodies are present each and every week to do ALL of the tech'ing each event? The answer to that is likely no. Track officials do the tech'ing. This was not a problem at other ULMA-sanctioned events.; the officials performed their assigned duties. ULMA has done its best to stay with Callaway as an affiliated track and it hopes to do so in the future.

ULMA over the six years of existence has featured Callaway Raceway in its press releases as long as it has sanctioned races there. We are proud to help out the facility in garnering some form of press over the years.

As for why don't we become just another super late model entity, which is what is being implied in a few of the thread responses here ... again why would we do that when we are and have always been an alternative to super late models and all the expenses that encompass a super late model race program? I am a huge super late model fan but that is not what ULMA is about.

Regarding CRATE comments, remember that ULMA wrote the CRATES into its existing rules when the CRATE series were unable to take hold in the St. Louis and central Missouri areas. We did not "push them out" nor have we tried to make anything difficult for them. There have been successful CRATE runs in ULMA over the years. Again, the underlying factor is ULMA has tried to keep any limited style late model rules under one banner ... again, key to remember is we wrote CRATEs in so those guys would have a place to race.

I am more than happy to answer any questions anyone may have, I'm not a huge fan of forum board bickering but I will do my best to respond or you can always PM me or email me at samonthemic@hotmail.com.

We've placed a survey on our website at www.ulmaracing.com or on our Facebook page for those who wish to partake, drivers, fans, owners, crewmen, etc, and highly encourage you to voice your opinions.

Thank you,

very well said sam. those who have raced ulma understand what you have done to promote late model racing in central and western mo. thats why we drove over 300 miles a weekend to race at warrensburg, and now we will drive even farther to race at wheatland.

I don't think our being a jerk at all just asking questions. I think it's best to take it up with them for specifics because I'm not proper representation for them but I can tell ya most nights there was concern about whether a tech guy was going to show up and there were a few calls that ULMA should have been involved in.

As Sam stated above, Callaway has one tech person and ULMA was helping when a ULMA official was available to attend. ULMA did most of the teching last couple years at callaway because we wanted to see more teching being done to the cars other than just run across the scales, but as mentioned above the officials have other jobs and familes to support so were not able to attend all the races at Callaway. We try to attend all the tracks but cant be there every weekend. ULMA has always supported Callaway and will continue to do so, but yes they do need to increase their tech dept as Sanctioning body officials cant always be there weekly.

Has anyone heard anything on the rules or what sanction they will be running under?

To answer the original topic question, yes Randolph County Raceway (RCR) will be running under USRA sanctioning for their A-mods, B-mods, Stock Cars, and Hobby Stocks. They will be running track rules for the 4 cyl class, and they will be running under ULMA sanctioning for the late model class.
First race will be 2nd weekend in May 2013
The new owners have a monster truck event planned for 1st weekend of May, and are planning other events such as Truck & Tractor Pulls.
They are making improvements to the facility and are taking up the asphalt to improve the track also.

How are you able to find out all this infromation about Moberly? I have been asking for a drivers meeting for awhile, to me it seems they should want to communicate with the racers that want to support the track. All we have heard is hearsay and NOTHING from the actual owners.

There have been SEVERAL announcements from the new owners on the new Facebook page. Randolph County Raceway.

I am working for them that is how i know. There has been several drivers asking about a drivers meeting. The owners are working on getting a drivers contact list together, they just have been busy with other things also.
As for a drivers meeting the rules have been set, but i think a meeting with the owners and drivers would be good just so all could get to know each other more. It would be a good time for pre-registrations, etc. I will ask and see what i can help set up.

Any idea when they are going to start dirt work? Any other plans in the works?
Drove by the track today, doesn't really look as though any clean up has started. There is a huge trench in the back strait. I didn't see anything that would indicate dirtwork or rehab has even begun.
