as stated in one of my earlier posts, Carb, exhaust, clutch, weight, tires, rpm, gear ratio, and i will add roller cams, can all be easily checked. If you build a 420 ci engine and run it with a 500cfm 2 bbl and 13/4" exhaust tips, this will severely kill the 420. The engine is an air pump, no air in and no air out = no power.

Why is everyone always driven to Limit power in this class. That's not real racing, I thought real racing was to be on the ragged edge, that's why safety equipment is so important, it is racing afte all. I understand budget building to get more racers involved, but to sacrifice the thrill at that expense.

That's why I like bigger engines, cheaper to build, make more usable horsepower at a lower rpm and add years of longevity to the engine, while still giving plenty of excitement both in the car and from the stands.

then why do we need another class? theres already pleanty of classes with big horsepower out of control -mods -late models -bmods-sprints-sportsman-etc seems like your arguing with what every track has!hell if you dont like a lower budget class dont watch -good time to take a break get a burger or somthing it would be nice to see a class with a near stock engine limited suspension and tires that are affordable for the working man and see some new cars-and names on the track hell might even get some younger kids involved instead of running against $$$$and the phrase if u would work on ur car 7 days a week some people dont hav the time but if u keep it simple they shouldnt hav to

AS FAR AS LIMITING HORSE POWER MOST ARE TALKING ABOUT TRYING TO LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD AMONG SEVERAL TYPES OF RACE CARS WITH DIFFERNT SUSPENSION TYPES , ENGINES , TIRE & ???????? JUST TO BE ABLE TO RACE FOR A DECENT PURSE AND AS FAR AS SPEED IT IS IRREVALATIVE TO GOOD RACING MOST PEOPLE IN THE STANDS COULD NOT GUESS WITHIN 15MPH OF WHAT A CAR IS TRAVELING AT IN A GROUP SIMILAR IN SPEED ??? BUT THEY LOVE TO SEE 3 OR 4 CARS BATTELING FOR THE WIN NO MATTER HOW FAST THEY MAY BE GOING !

VERY WELL SAID. I would also add that most people would prefer 3-4 cars battling than a hammer down, b*lls to the wall, super fast, heavy track. Which usually means follow the leader racing.
Not singleing you out Casey, All the fans at all the tracks needs to think about that before praising any hammer down track.
 
I agree BTDH! If you want to just push the throttle all the way down and leave it there, go drag racing!
