NEW FLORENCE, MO (May 8) -- A night of firsts for Montgomery County Speedway, Rusty Griffaw dominated both the UMP Late Model and UMP Modified portion of the program. The B-Modifieds, Super Streets and RAMS Mini Stocks also had first time feature winners.

Rusty Griffaw won his heat and the feature in the UMP A-Modified division, Rusty won his second feature in a row in the class and now has a $100 bounty to anyone who can beat him in the A-Modified feature event.

Following Rusty to line in the UMP A-Modified division was Leroy Haney, J.D. Rottler, Bob Bizelli, and Mike Vanderiet, Jr.

All of this is nothing new to Rusty as he is the winningest driver in MCS history, what made this night unique was he decided to compete in the UMP Late Model division as well.

Rusty Griffaw started the evening off by winning his heat race, then squeeked out a narrow win in the dash with a come from behind, photo finish victory over veteran racer Mark Voigt.

In the feature event Rusty Griffaw and Mark Voigt swaped the lead back and forth until Voigt was tangled up in an accident with a lap car to side line him from the event. Upon the restart Bryan Collins went low to pass Griffaw in turns 1 and 2. Collins pulled out to a straight away lead until he was tangled up with a lap car and forced from the event. Rusty Griffaw inherited the lead and never looked back in winning his first career UMP Late Model feature victory.

Following Griffaw to the line was Steve Grotz, Ken Rumble, Kieth Pratt, and Jim Durbin

Steve Grotz won his first UMP Late Model heat race and recorded his best finish ever to date in the class with his 2nd place finish on Saturday night.

Randy Dickman has raced the B-Modified division for 2 1/2 years and has yet to win a feature event. That all changed on Saturday night as Randy took off for an early lead and with stood charge after charge from Craig Roden and Casey Morris to pick up his first feature win.

Chasing Randy to the line was Craig Roden, Mike Vanderiet, Jr., Casey Morris and A.J. Ingrande

In the Super Street division Dan Kaminski won his heat and took a commanding lead in the feature event that saw repeated yellows for 2nd place cars spinning out.

Dan took off from the green flag followed closely by Ron Imm, Darren Holland, Beau Davis and Kevin Owens. Ron Imm brought out the first yellow as he spun on the back straight away. This moved Darren Holland and Beau Davis up towards the front.

Upon the restart of the race Darren Holland and Beau Davis swapped 2nd place back and forth while chasing Kaminski. Sammy Worley, Jr. then moved into fourth position from Kevin Owens.

Shortly after that Holland and Davis spun with 5 laps to go, now the race was between Dan Kaminski and Sammy Worley, Jr. Once the green fell the cars went into 1 and 2, Kaminski pushed high allowing Worley to move to the inside of him, they raced side by side down the back straight and into turn 4 where Kaminski spun bringing out the final yellow of the race.

Sammy Worley, Jr. was able to hold onto the lead for the final two laps to win his first feature after 16 years of competition.

Following Sammy Worley, Jr. to the line was Ron Imm, Chris Spalding, Ray Cloehthier, and Beau Davis.

In the RAMS Mini Stock division, Dave Wofford, Jr. finally met his match. Wes Kintz was able to learn from his close brush with victory the week before to go out and nail down the feature event.

Following Wes to the line was Dave Wofford, Jr., Steve LaGarce, Jack Tschannen, and Joe Trendle

Wes not only won the feature but also picked up the $100 bounty on Dave Wofford, Jr.
