UMP Sanction,
Super Latemodels , Crate latemodels A & B MODS Pro 4s This may change with intrest from other classes We will strive to have complete fields of cars no matter what type of cars they may be ???

What will the tire rules be? Will it be like Monett and limited to D55 and lm40? If you do not allow d55 tires or allow softer than lm40 you will not get many, if any cars from the west.

UMP Pro Crate Late Models are limited to LM40 or WRS55...

UMP Super Late Models can have LM40, LM30, LM20 and LM10.. However, tracks can limit those down as they see fit for weekly racing. Most UMP Super Late Model sanctioned tracks in this area only allow LM40 and LM20s..

yep if they run only d55 and m40 for the latemodel class there will be at least 12 cars including my 2 latemodels coming from the west. If no d55s I doubt if any will come. For all the years they ran supers before, I was the only one that ran there regularly from the west, All because of the dang tire difference. Don't make the same mistake of the past. don't put us in a position to choose, cuz I don't have the funds to change out all my d55's to m40's for 2 cars! I'd suggest not to allow any of the 10's-30's too because that will keep several from coming too. I can't wait for a meeting!

For as close as they are to fulton (callaway Raceway) its a shame they wouldnt follow the same rules to draw good car counts.
Not many supers and or crates in this area, they will have to compete for cars out of Ill to pull there.

Since it is UMP sanctioned, I doubt they will let the d55's run.. Prob go to just lm40 and lm20's..

Casey, estimated open date? We are all itching to go and in the meantime have to bounce around to other tracks..

I do hope they are open to looking at the sportsman class.. i know a bunch of people were hoping they would run them..

The reason I ask is because I though Monett is a ump points track but allow D55 tires, same as the MARS series, is affiliated with UMP but allow D55 tires.

Unless the MLRA and ULMA will start to allow LM 40 tires or the STL UMP tracks start to allow D55 tires I do not look for many cars to cross the east of Columbia dividing line. Would be nice if they would allow either tire in both places. Most won't buy another complete set to cross over.

Monett Speedway is UMP sanctioned for Late Models.. At least on their website it only shows the LM series tires being allowed. But I'm not sure on that one.

ok so i dont get the whole run two classes of latemodels and two classes of modifieds why not share the wealth a little and spread the classes to include a sportsman and or streetstock class not all people like just watching latemodels and modifieds

All the ump dirt car tracks out west, I'm talking even in Colorado they run both the d55 and the 40's. And no 10-30's. If they can't make it happen here when a track running a different night only 30 miles away with usually close to a full field of cars and no where to run on Saturday. Then there is something wrong. The track can make it work if they got their heart set on ump. If not then the place will suffer low car counts. And if they want what callaway and Lucas oil speedway has they will go with ULMA.

I've been reading the posts for the reopening of MCS and noticed all the remarks about if they don't run certain tires the cars from the west won't be there, and all the quotes of how many western cars will show up if they choose the right santion.
My question is who are the people, from the west, that are going to race there if the right sanction or tire is allowed? Is there any "star" quality of these drivers that would be recognizable by the paying fans?
I think the UMP sanction is their best bet for drawing fans and name drivers!!!

THANX RICH

People say I'm getting crankier as I get older. That's not it. I just find I enjoy annoying people a lot more now. Especially younger people!!!

Guess it depend who you know. People in the middle of the state know different racers. Mcs is only 30 miles from the middle of the state. And 60mi from stl. And ULMA does get into the national mags. Many have ran MLRA, MARS, and NCRA. Why feel they need stl stars to make a difference. Keep em in ur town.

Forgot to mention probably a few IMCA stars of the past too. That's why IMCA guys left and went to ULMA from Quincy. Just a better set of rules. Maybe not the easiest to understand but it is fairly even across the board.

If you are running both Super Late Models and Crate Late Models, then I will have to make the 2+ hour trip (one way).

The Quincy late models are UMP sanctioned this year and many of them will run at Montgomery County if they run super late models. The ULMA deal at Quincy lasted approximately one week last fall. After the ownership announced that they were going to go with "ULMA type" rules the drivers quickly voiced their displeasure and the track owners switched to UMP quickly.
