Montgomery Late Models

the track the past three weeks has been super fast and many lines around the track with some great racing :D

I hope this works

Dropping late models or sprints and making modifieds a track's top class
has been tried before. It hurt attendance dramatically. Ask anyone
knowledgeable what happened when Godfrey tried it. Bumping the
other purses does not help. Drawing more cars will not help. Many
spectators come only to see the top class run and will not attend
a weekly show featuring only support classes.

I hope that Montgomery is successful. Few people understand the sacrifices
in money, time and their personal life that track promoters make to bring us
entertainment. The two guys spearheading Montgomery County's reopening
are great people. I hope their decision defies history.

I don't know if this is true or not and until Casey or Randy make the announcement official I'll hold off on the rumors however I do wonder about the No of last minute decision changes. That an indication management doesn't know how to get where they want to be from where they are now. Poor business planning? I don't know.

Perhaps Pevely is starting rumors to get car back?

Lizardracing,

Accusing Pevely of starting rumors is absolutely ridiculous.

I personally have talked to multiple late model drivers who were called by Casey!

Several Late Model drivers here at Macon have reported Casey called them to say that Montgomery was dropping Super Late Models.

Name them....Or ask them to post. Everything else is vague references just for controversy.

Jim Moon, Dustin Griffin, Brian Dively, Ed Dixon to name a few.

Rich Lawson & Jason Pritz have posted here or on Facebook about it as well.

You know it's sad if they are, they never called Tim, but I don't see why they don't cut the purse.$1500 to win and 200 to start, they can go lower and They have been having the car count more than Pevely and Highland on a weekly bases.. The stands werent good last week due to heat I'm sure, but they where doing well on fan base and car count the previous weeks before. I think maybe jumping the gun a little, talk to the drivers about pay ,I'm sure they won't mind..they keep comming back to help support the track or they wouldn't come back. I just hope it's not true, cause as much as it hurts me to say it they do bring the fans in.......

Not every track makes a good profit ethier. I have never been to a racetrack where the beer line was empty. That equals profit. Beer dosnt go bad between weeks like other consessions do, also the profit margin is higher than any other consession with the exeption of fontain soda & popcorn.

well its no rumor cause casey called and told us about this yesterday... its a shame because the track was finally coming around. in my opinion mmsp will be short lived after a call like this.

Fans wont be there. I know I will NOT be going back. We was going to go this weekend till they canceled cuz of the heat. I55 here we come. I guess we will watch Korte win again :(

Dislike this move...not pulling any sportsman or pro-4's so if they get dropped like people are saying then it's gonna be a 2 class racetrack? We've supported all year but I don't like where this is going at all.

Was at I55 2 weeks ago and the beer stand there NEVER had a line all night long.

That's because some folks are too damn picky about their beer of choice...I agree about the profit margin, for the price of one beer I can add $2 and buy a 12-pack of "Beast",but I'll still buy a couple at the track, anyway to do my part. ;)

They could of very well cut the purse track

They could of cut the purse track was just getting good and everthing was starting to come together did not give it a chance
I was called by Randy not Casey ! So it's not a rumor !
Asfor I -55 , they sell Coors and Keystone ! Nuff said !

I see a lot of I told you so and I knew it wouldn't work, but we all don't need to pile on and make things worse then it is. Let Casey or Randy figure out where they will go from here, and try and not be so judgmental and critical of everything. I for one really liked the way the track is being run and the way the racing has been multi-groove the last few weeks. Losing the supers is gonna cost them some fans sure, but we sure dont wanna lose this track again, or another track in the St. Louis/Mid Missouri area. Randy and Casey have a lot of money sunk into this, give them a few days/weeks to see where they go from here. Do you think they wanted to call these guys and explain to them why they had to drop the class on a weekly basis? and you think that was an easy thing for them to do, after trying to give these guys a nice payout and a place to race? Your all much smarter then the guys that put their money, time, sweat into the place what were they thinking for not getting it right when there are so many smart business men on stl racing to judge and guide them.
