Casey
You knew we were out of town for the week. Thanks for waiting till we got back. Lol
I'm sure because everyone being worn out from the holiday the count would have been a bit low.
Good decision

you cant b serious we did just fine pushun the show back last week and still got done early

I understand u wanna race. but due to heat no fans in stands and thats what pays the purse...Peoples health is more important than being out in this heat..Thank-you MMP for cancelling...

I agree it does **** not to have the races this week, it will be cooler next week. And Im sure they took into account that New Florence has their 4th celebration on Saturday with a car show, burnout contest and fireworks.. Im sure they would be missing alot of fans who will be attending that this week also, so Im sure it contributed to them canceling along with the extreme heat. Good night for the workers and racers to take off.

Should be an interesting comparison on thoughts of opening or closing if Federated has a good turnout this Saturday night. It was 104 degees when I pulled onto their parking lot last Saturday night for the SN and by 8:00 (later start) you could already feel a noticeable difference in the temperature. The stands were approximately 85% full.

Well MMP also raced last week and was only about 50/60 percent full in the stands, they pay more then Federated and depend more on people driving farther to race and to spectate I think its a good idea to not take that chance again this week. Federated even 85 percent full is like MMP being 150percent full if your talking paying butts in the stands. Casey is making the right call and the drivers, crews, and workers need to be at home staying cool and not killing themselves for a break even or losing night. That is just my opinion and I dont count for anything or speak for anyone at the track. The track has been super fast and great racing and Ill be there the 14th and then the week after we have 2 nights of racing to look forward to, with the sprints and vintage cars on friday, and the regular show on saturday.

Like comparing apples and oranges when you compare these to tracks... After several visits this year to I55 its the nicest track in the area JMO.

Nice post Davt with some very good points. Since MMP was only 50-60% full last Saturday night, I can understand them choosing to shut it down this Saturday night.

At best, the stands were 75% full, which wasn't bad considering the heat.
