Montgomery Motorsports Park is running late models

Just got off the phone with the owners they are going to continue running late models and it's for the remainder of the year

Give em a chance guys..at least they listened to your input and kept the supers!! Heard it's going to be $1000 to win $200 to start, but like I said just what I heard!! Go support them!

just a thought pay them to race an not just show up 1000,500,400,350,325,300,275,250,225,200,175,165,155,145,135,125,125,125,125,125 20 car field same money only you motivated to pass cars and stay on the track better show for the fans and rewards the drivers that came to race an not the ones just looking for the 200 dollar check

Stupid Thought,,,Next year run LM RULES that attract the most CARS....I live 130 miles from this place, but I want to go there this year,PLZ and THX.....;)

What rules you want? If your in Illinois don't you follow UMP? That's their sanction. As for pay down start money means a lot, economy ****s and a majority of the cars drive a long distance. And racers race for the best position they can get! It's racing that's the game I doubt there is a single one there that's just settling back and not racing to the best position they can finish

Yea, but if I'm starting 18th the two cars behind me pull off and I haven't passed anyone in three laps and haven't got crap for points in the ump standings then I'm pulling off. And if I were to pass five drivers, what for, the same pay. No I'm going elsewhere.

Most guys arent out there to turn a profit.. They are racing for fun, hobby, competition, and putting on a show for the fans, I dont think many are out there trying to make a living. Guys want to race to beat their fellow racers, improve from getting seat time just because you cant get 13th from 15 doesnt mean you just gonna pull off the track and quit racing that night...

Most drivers look at start pay, the fastest car at the track often does not win, luck, flat tires, locked down limited passing all can come into play. Making enough to cover fuel and pit passes is great.

To your example. About starting 18th and passing 5 cars but not getting paid better is bs so you would pull off. Well two things, 1. Most tracks pay the same from about 10th or 14th on back, so depending on the track you would still not make any more money. 2. Most tracks are heavy front load with poor payback, so 10th may only pay 50 more than 18th, but too pass those cars you will burn up the $50 in tires and wear and tear so no financial gain.

If your racing for money and a living, you need to be running a bigger series. Winning 15 shows a year at $1,500 to win with a paid off car still won't pay the bills for most families and routine wear and tear.
