Lebanon,Mo.-(May 31)-Second Generation driver Dustin Mooneyham found the low grove to his liking as he came from deep in the field to capture the $1000 Late Model feature after overtaking his Dad Darrell on the 23rd lap of the 25 lap feature Sat.night at the high-banks of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway as over 135 cars checked into the pits at the 3/8ths mile clay oval.

The start of the Late Model feature had 1988 Kingpin Darrell Mooneyham on the pole after the redraw with Roger Wilson to his outside, but the Red flag would fly as Kenny Dickinson scrapped the frontstretch wall and flipped his GRT machine as he climbed out uninjured.

On the restart,Darrell powered to the front as opening night winner Brad Looney came charging from his 3rd row starting spot. This duo went at it hot and heavy as Dustin was powering his Moon Bros./B&P Discount Grocery No.2 from the 9th starting spot.

As Looney tried several times to take Darrell from the high-side,Dustin had reeled the leaders in on lap 20 and began to use the low groove as Melvin Smith and current point leader Dave Ware were battling for 4th.

On lap 23 Dustin took it to the bottom once again and quietly got around Looney and then out of turn 4,overtook hid father to capture his 1st I-44 Late Model feature of the season as Looney passed Darrell for the runner-up spot at the stripe followed closely by early leader Darrell Mooneyham, and quick moving Smith and point leader Ware.

In Modified action, pole setter Paul Williams jumped to the early lead as all eyes were on point leader Erik Maggard coming from the 5th row. With Williams out in front,Springfield's Eric Lampe applied heavy pressure to the leader as a heavy battle for third was between Maggard, terry Kirk,Jason Meadors and a fast moving Jeff LeBaube.

The caution would wave for debris on lap 5 with Williams still in command,Lampe, them Maggard the green waved as Lampe shot to the inside overtaking Williams, with Maggard in tow.On Lap 8,Williams flipped his racer into a 3 barrell roll, and was able to walk away.On the restart,Maggard pulled to the low side around Lampe and began to pull away as Jason Meadors began his charge to the runner-up spot leaving Terry Kirk to battle LeBaube, and Hudson for third.Meadors tried several attempts to overtake Lampe but to no avail as Maggard powered to the line followed closely by Lampe,Meadors,LeBaube, and Kirk.

The Superstock feature stopped as fast as it started as Larry Prewitt had a rearend lock-up on the start as the field restarted. On the restart Shawn Danuser shot to the early lead as Ed Wilson was bringing the 57 Chevy from the 15th starting spot up to challange. On lap 2,Tad Scherer tangled with Paul Moore putting Scherer out fro the night. On the restart, leader Danuser lost a driveshaft as Matt Pilant shot upward on turn 2 and gathered up Josh Woody sending both drivers to the rear, and giving the lead to Rick Brown with Wilson in tow followed by point leader Mike Joplin. As the feature got underway with green flag action,Pilant was coming from the rear followed by Woody as Brown continued to set the pace followed by Joplin as Wilson headed for the pits with problems. As the final laps clicked off,Brown was able to pull away claiming the win followed by Joplin,Pilant,Woody, and a quiet charging Tim Petty.

The MidWest Limited Sprints came in full force as Joplin's Doug Fry jumped to the early lead with Clint todd in tow.Defending champion Joe Todd was coming hard from the 4th row as the laps continued to click off.The yellow waved on lap 9,as Scott Wedelstadt, and Bill Kee got together in turn 3 setting up a dramatic finish. On the restart,Fry surged ahead, but Joe Todd overtook his son Clint to gather-up second and began hid assult on Fry.Coming for the checkered flag, with fry in the high grrove,Todd shot to the bottom on turn 4 and barely clipped Fry for the win followed by Clint todd,J.P.Compton,and Gerald Griffth.
Sean Williams overtook ealry leader Darrin Crisler on lap 10 and held off a hard charge from Burl Woods to capture the Factorystock win followed closely by Crisler,Quintin Day,and a hard charging Chuck Pederson.

Bob Schofiled jumped from his front row starting spot and claimed his 1st win this season in the Pro-4 Late Models followed by point leader Ken Jones, early contender Lonnie Muhlbauer,Don Lacey, and Rick Metcalf.

The Bombers saved the best for last as a full 20 car field came down to take the green with Sonny nicewanner taking the early lead.On lap 2,Tim Riffle coming from the back of the pack rolled his car out of turn 4,bringing out the red.On the restart,13 year old point leader Micheal Maggard overtook Nicewanner and gathered the lead as Rolla's Gary Klossner was in heavy tow followed by Craig Lonning and a thundering pack. behind them. With positions being swapped throughout the pack, the white was displayed with Maggard holding a narrow lead over Klossner, and a fast moving Dusty Rhoades and B Feature winner Todd Cook.As the field came for the checkered lapped traffic held there line as Klossner used it to his advantage and just clipped Maggard to claim the victory, followed closely by Maggard,Rhoades,Nicewanner, and Lonning.
