Moonman at Belleclair.

Still plays in dirt
Woulda thought he would have been there friday. He go somewhere else?

Smart man, race a crate against 50+ cars many of them professional racers. Or against 16 cars. And get some needed track time for the end of year shows at tri-city.

He didn't pass tech. He runs a crate 525 which has coil packs. Which makes it illegal in woo and really is illegal for ump but somehow gets away with it and on top of that ump gives him a weight break for a crate motor which is actually an open motor with coil packs. Not a crate

I never understood that either, same reason bloomer was thrown out 1 time

You sound like that snitch Judy on Leave it to Beaver.

Shep did great but, driving the rocket house car makes him a pro. And for moon taking a crate, regardless of How tricked up people want.to say it is, it's still a crate. Ump and dirtcar allow the coil packs, if it was the added weight then I guess he had a choice.

Running the all aluminum crate motor and getting a weight break at BC is a big advantage. Many regulars have less horsepower than that motor but don't get the weight break. If I was certain that UMP wouldn't change the rules we would run one at BC and any other short tracks. JMO

We plan on buying 2 of them in the off season. Just hoping the rules don't change. The past 3 seasons we have run ulma limited all steel 23 deg. Motors. But even with the weight there were a couple nights I got around the moonman at MMP. If I can get weight percentage higher than the 53% and under the 2450# our cars weighed to get percentages that good, I'd even settle for no penalty. Luckily ump allows the 525, ulma, MLRA and.Lucas doesn't allow it period! Value wise the engine is a bargain considering what you get. I got tired spending any where from $10-30k every 20 races to either repair or build an engine, seems I never ever just had to freshen one, they always needed more. These ulma steel motors are fine if everyone else is running them but I miss running ump so the best option for the money is that motor. I look to see a lot more using them in the future. At least in ump land. MLRA, ulma and Lucas which dominates the west side of Missouri is what's not making me happy. I'd like to run everywhere there is a race.
