CLARKSVILLE, TN – A trio of Mississippi dirt late model champions and a Georgia veteran have joined the field for the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series event this Friday and Saturday nights at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

Mike Boland of Cuba, AL, Rodney Wing of Meridian, MS, Darin Dorsey of Pearl, MS, and Mike Head of Ellenwood, GA have been added to the expected entry list for the 40-lap $3,000-to-win StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series race.

Boland is a seven-time Mississippi State Dirt Late Model Champion, and will be making his second appearance of the season with the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series. On September 2, Boland finished second to StormPay.com DLMS National point leader David Gentry of Lewisburg, TN at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

Wing is a former SUPR Dirt Late Model Champion, who posted a win this season at Magnolia Motor Speedway in StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series action on September 3. Wing is also the promoter of Whynot Motorsports Park.

The irony of Wing’s victory at Magnolia Motor Speedway is that he has traded first place checks with another dirt late model driver/promoter, Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS. Stokes took the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series main event at Whynot Motorsports Park on July 28. Wing will be looking to get one up on Magnolia Motor Speedway promoter Stokes this weekend.

Dorsey will be making his first appearance of the season with the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Tour this weekend at Magnolia Motor Speedway. After winning the dirt late model championship at Simpson County Speedway in Mendenhall, MS, Dorsey was the winner last weekend at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Head has been one of the top dirt late model drivers in the Southeast for over 20 years. The “Headman” has also had success on the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series tour in 2006. Head finished second to Gentry at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL on August 5, and has two top five finishes in five starts this season.

On Friday night, the StormPay.com DLMS competition will include time trials to set the line-ups for the heat races. The top finishers in the heat races will transfer into Saturday night’s main event, and the front starting spots will be determined in the StormPay.com Lightning Quick 6 Dash.

On Saturday night, the preliminary action will include B-main events, as drivers that failed to transfer to the big show in the Friday night heat races will get another opportunity to make the main event, the 40-lap $3,000-to-win race on Saturday night. On Friday and Saturday nights, the gates open at 2 p.m., with racing scheduled for 7 p.m. each night.
