(Macon, IL) There was a threat of showers throughout most of the day in central Illinois. A shower made its way to Macon shortly after 5pm and dampened the track, but not the spirits of the drivers and the fans. The evening started with the first Kids Club meeting of the 2009 season and Tramph the Clown was in attendance for entertainment.

The evening remained overcast but drivers came to race. They also came to show off their racecars to the fans with the annual Driver/Sponsor Appreciation Night. All racecars and drivers made their way onto the track to have a meet and greet with the fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures.

At the end of the StarTek Intermission program, the rains came and ended the evening at Macon Speedway. No features were ran Saturday night. Information about the conclusion of the evening will be made available within the next few days. Stay updated with the Official Web Site of Macon Speedway, MaconRacing.com.

Our next show at Macon Speedway will be the first visit by the O’Reilly’s POWRi Midgets and Micros. The open wheel racing is fast and furious and they will put on a great performance. Gates at 5pm with racing action at 7pm.
