Motsinger Injured at Poplar Bluff!

I don't know any specifics. I just received a phone call asking if I was near a computer and was asked to post that Dean Motsinger of Farmington was injured in a racing accident at Poplar Bluff Speedway. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is still there (last anyone heard). Again, I don't know how bad it is. Hopefully someone will know more soon and try to keep everyone posted.
 
I just got home from Montgomery County, contacted Wayne bringing the car home from Poplar Bluff. Dean is still there after being injured, I'll know more in the morning. Hopefully he's just being held for observation.

I sure hope Dean is doing ok. I always look forward to his informative posts on the board. Anyone with any info keep us all updated.
 
He was fast!! finished 2nd in his heat was running 4th in the feature. A car was spinning out coming out of the turn and it hit him in the right side of the car hard.His mom said he pulled some muscles in his neck.They announced he collapsed but he didn't.
 
Hate to hear anyone getting hurt doing what they love. Hope your feeling better and back out soon.
 
Get well Dean..we dont like seeing any driver get hurt doing this sport..anything you need..let us here on the board know.
 
Well, we all knew it couldn't have been an injury to this head, there's nothing up there!!!! LOL... Get well Dean, hopefully you and the car can be back real soon. Everyone said you really looked good last night.... I would have loved to see the #44 back on the track Saturday.
 
Thanks to everyone for their concern! EMTs took Dean to the ER, where he was X-RAYed, which showed that their was no bone damage, just muscle, tendon, disc damage. Unfortunately, the hospitals MRI lab is just Mon-Fri. We will know more of the extent of damages as soon as we can get him to the doc for more test.
Once again, THANKS to everyone for the well wishes. They are appreciated.

Cars can be fixed but sometimes people can't. We forget the dangers drivers place themselves into each time they strap into that race car. GLAD YOUR NOT DAMAGED to BAD..... :)
