Mt. Vernon Raceway will be reopening for the 2007 season on March 24th with a test & tune event. The following Saturday night (March 31st) will kickoff our regular weekly events. We will be running every Saturday Night and include the following divisions: UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, C.A.R.S. Late Models, UMP Street Stock and UMP 4 Cylinders.

I am currently working on a new website for Mt. Raceway. It will be available online in the next week to ten days at www.mtvraceway.com.

A few events that have already been scheduled to take place during the 2007 season is a $2,000 to win Northern All-Star Late Model Series show on Saturday, April 7th, a $6,000 to win UMP Summernational Series Tour event on Wednesday, June 27th, and a second NALMS Event on Saturday, September 1st. We are still working on securing special events for all divisions, including a couple of special Sprint Car shows. More information on these events will be available once the new website is launched.

Jim Scott will be taking over the financial role of running the race track in 2007. Jim has appointed me to the position of Track Promoter for Mt. Vernon Raceway.

I am currently working to secure sponsorships for the 2007 season. Regardless of whether you are looking to be a weekly event sponsor, product sponsor or yearly sponsor of the track, please contact me at your convenience to discuss options of how you or your business could best support Mt. Vernon Raceway.

:) Great news to hear. The Vern is back for 2007. Congratulations to Jim and Brandon. I wish you the best, and heres to a very sucessful year.

For all the doom and gloom we've been hearing with track closures and rumors of closures, it's good to hear that a track some folks had started to give last rites to is going to open again this year.

Is that Sprint cars rather than Spring or is there something new coming?

Good to hear that Mt. Vernon is not closing and that some special dates have been setup.

Great News!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Count SBS Mototsports Team of driver Blake & crew chief Steph Sabo to campaign entire season and dominate the UMP Street Stock class!!!!!!
JJ, Lonnie, Matt, Darrel, Caleb, & Scott.......your going down, this is the year for TOTAL DOMINATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good deal! FCR Racing ("Frickin" Clueless Redneck Racing) will be there with at least 2 hornet cars and possibly as many as 5. Just hope not to live up to our team name on too many occasions. Looking forward to adding to the list of Nashville racers (Sabos).
Brandon, just remember when looking for sponsors...It's not just what a business can do to support the track, but what the track can do to promote their business (sounds kind of like JFK).
FCR Racing sponsored by Jeffrey Stern Repair, Meier Chevrolet-Buick,
Lil Rock Electric and Bartling Farms.

Looking forward to the 2007 season!! I think Brandon Trotter will do a great job promoting The Vern this year.

Thank you so much for everyone's great responses and suggestions. I am open to all feedback and assistance that anyone may have in regards to making Mt. Vernon Raceway the best racing facility that it can be. I am very much looking forward to a great racing season in the upcoming year!

I was wondering the same thing too. Are you going srictley by UMP Street Stock rules or will you incorporate some track rules in? Would appreciate letting us know so we can start building.

Mt. Vernon Raceway will be following the rules set for each class including the UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, UMP Street Stock and UMP Hornets. The rules for the Crate Late Model division will be governed by those rules set by the C.A.R.S. organization.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or need any further information.

Ref Ump

Brandon Is The Track Going To Be Ump.do You Have A Payout For All The Class Yet.i Can Help With Getting The Track Ready If You Need Some Free Help Just Let Me Know.

Add a little dirt from middle of 2 out, would really promote two wide racing there and flatten the bottom a little farther out too, that would also slow the bottom down forcing some to get up on the track or allowing a place to pass up high. These aren't big changes but would increase the competitiveness of the track, heck, I don't even know if I'd tell anyone when I did it, try it both ways see what works.
