No Feature For Hornets due to Time.
 
What was the reason for starting the LM feature single file? How much of a advantage do they have to give thier drivers? I understand only running 15 laps for the feature due to running over the curfew. But to start a race single file......?
 
They tried starting the race 3 or 4 times and couldnt get it started, so the went single file. I dont think it was giving an advantage to "their" so called drivers.
 
They ran out of time. The police department had many calls last week when they went over there time limit. This week they came and made them stop.
 
I bet they were 30 minutes into the feature before they went single file. Those guys just could keep from crashing. They didnt call two to go until the cops came and shut them down. Yea Rodney was leading but no favoritism- in my humble opinion.

Good runs by Kloos and Salter but an exceptional job by the 56 year old (according to Patti) Bobby Martintoni.

Nice track work for the feature too.
 
Just a few things to think about at Mt Vernon.....#1,,,Bury you some car tires around the perimeter of the track..Last week,Sat the 10th, there were 4 times the yellow was thrown for tires on the track in the late model feature alone. Also 2 times in the bomber feature. #2,,,Quit working on the cars in turn 4,,every night the cars are in line ready to race and someone is up in turn 4 with Rick or one of his crew working on someones car.,,, #3,,Why doesn't everyone with a headset on around the track help Larry line up cars? He works his butt off but gets no help from anyone else. It takes a lot of time to line up a race after a caution.,,,#4,,,Keep the wrecker guys in there trucks ready to go instead of in the pits working on cars,,,#5,,,for God sakes Julio, Quit the one more lap thing, the drivers are lined up to race and everytime you have to "tell" them one more lap. These things can save you a "lot" of time and maybe you could get a whole show in. I would be mad if I made the haul down there and we couldn't race, especially the way the gas prices are. Why don't you alter the race schedule? I'd bet the late models would run no matter what. I'm not trying to start a pissing match, I've been around a long time and can see this for myself,,,,why can't you?
 
Sweet SWEEP!

Well he's not quit 56 but it was a great night . He is 51 yrs young. He had to work for all 3 wins to get the sweep. His heat, the dash and the Feature where great races. (Patti's in TROUBLE LOL)
 
sine mt vernon cant start a race after 10pm anymore why dont rick just start the races early on saturdays. would anyone want the races to start around 2 or 3 pm so then everyone gets to race and get home at a decent time?

Not to beat a dead horse but there was, two maybe three attempts to start it before single filing it...
 
It may have been a bit premature but the single file restart is something MTV has done in the past when the doubles fail. Especially when time is an issue. Nothing new. Actually I wish more tracks would do it after "x" tries.

Doesnt make sense why they couldnt get it going because they had some good LMs there.
 
Haven't talked to Mike (Hammerle) yet, does anyone know what happened to him in the feature?

Since when does mt vernon have a curfew theres not ahouse in site since i last checked i figured favortism was involved since kloos was about to pass melvin and they had to hury and shut it down so melvin got his points and as far as starting the feature i heard the 1st start wasnt good enough cause melvin didnt getthe jump on cole oh well i was just curious about the curfew i heard last week they where running still at like 1am
 
Kartracer65, the cops said if the race didnt stop someone was going to jail, period! There was NO favortism!!! All 3 starts that they tried to have someone wrecked or something happend, it wasnt because Rodney didnt have a good jump. They had over 28 complaints last week because they ran so late, thats why they had to call the feature at 16 laps. These are the facts and not what i heard!!! I was there.

I can understand the curfew, but man, Kloos was there!!!!!!!
Way to go Mikey, you have come a long way from the go-kart days!!!! :) :)

Rick, how come you can't change a flat during the consi.? A last chance race, you ought to be able to change a flat. we were told in the past that the only time you couldn't was in the heats. Have the rules been changed or was the curfew a factor? :( :( :confused: :confused:
