[/B] Well good job for mike harrison!!! But not as good as Brian Did At highland!!! 2 clean Sweeps In the mod and street stock!!!!!!! Yea Brian Wooooooo good luck next week
I notice in the results that in the 1st heat melvin was in #27 and in #30 the rest of the night. Did he have problems and borrow a vehicle or what? Congrats to Billy Faust on the win .
Rodney's car had rear end problems after the first heat. He borrowed Munsons car for the dash and feature.
And How about those Cockrum Brothers. Brian after being out of racing for a year and Shane in a new car. seems like they both are getting it together and are making a promising show in the steel blocks. Have to admit. loved watching Billy win and the steel block feature was one Hell of a show.
So you mean they let Rodney switch cars after running his heat, and they let him keep his position in the dash. I hope it states in their rules that a driver is allowed to do this because everywhere I have ever seen a race if you switch cars after your heat you are no longer qualified for the feature or dash.
from what I heard,Melvin and the track owner are buddies so I guess he can get away with it. I too thought than when you switch cars but already made the feature ,you have to start in the back.
according to UMP rules, the driver can change cars during a race night but must go to the rear of that paticular race or races for the balance of the night, once a race is oficially started (1 lap gennerally) that option is then removed,,you can go to the UMP site and check that in general rules
here is ump's opinion. A driver that has qualified his car,may drive another drivers car,in the next scheduled event, but must start on the rear. The next scheduled event was the dash,he started on the back of the dash, his correct starting spot in the feature after the dash, should have been third row outside, but to make sure, that all of you rule experts could not say that cheating was going on, Rick also made him start in the back.UMP's phone no is 812-479-8760, contact person is Sam. He will correct all of you rule enthusiest.
Congrats to Billy Faust for a great night at Mt. Vernon Speedway on Saturday night for setting fast time, winning the dash and the feature and a second place heat finish is not bad either. Good luck to Billy in 2004. Thanks-Danny
Not sure about other tracks but that is how they do it at PEVELY also. The same way Rick and Rodney did it. I sure would hate to have to live under a microscope on everything I did. You poor people !!!!!
They had Rodney start the Dash and the Feature at the tail. In fact they sent Rodney to the rear again during the feature for spinning out another car. I may not like watching rodney win all the time at MVN. but i have to admit he is one hell of a driver. taking another drivers car out on the track and still move through the pack and finish like he did, that was impressive. So do all the rodney bashing you want. but watching him get through pack like he does is very impressive to me.
