Mt. Vernon Results?

Dirtgirl, I hate to disagree with your statement, and risk incurring your rath, but at I-55 they would not have allowed him to start the dash. I have an example from 2001 if I must quote it.
 
Dirt Girl I also was told by Allied that I would have to qualify the car for the field by running it in the semi.
 
They have in the past allow a driver that has qualified through the heats
in their original car and something breaks and they have started in the tail of the features. I could and probally should be corrected on the dash tough... Dean LMAO!!! No Rath and no quotes needed.. :p This will be something to wait for and see how it's done again when it arises. Dennis I think the problem with you was you just didn't know who to blow :eek: I am
just kiddin :D :D I'm at a loss on that one Dennis because I have seen several latemodels and some mods and sportsmans do it also. Remember the big sportsman race 2 years ago I believe. Didn't Belkin's car blow and he barrowed the black sportman he bought and did not use, the leaf spring one that used to be Troy Nagers and he started in the back and came to the front. He didn't have to run the semi did he? :confused: I could be wrong won't be the first nor the last. I kinda dig being human ;)

I believe Troy Naeger is back in this same car again... Of course it is green now (could it be DODGE RED soon???)
 
I believe that Rick is running a pretty fair racetrack, he did everything right sat. night and the most impressive was putting Melvin to the back when he clearly spun John Seets out in the feature. Good call. I like Melvin, but I also like John. I am also soooo sick of hearing Mt.Melvin, what about these other tracks like Brownstown that could be called the Brownstown boys' track or Godfrey which should be called Southern Brighton Speedway!! It happens everywhere so people need to realize that's racing and when an owner has family racing people are gonna get screwed sometimes. It happens.
 
You said it best racerchick, Rick did a great job saturday in his calls. He hands down made the race as fair as anyone could. we all know your not gonna make everyone happy and someone is gonna yell unfair, no matter what. I have never called Mt. Vernon, Mt. Melvin, but i have joked to the lake sometimes in the infield as lake melvin, but just jokeing. High Fives to Rick for His calls. Great Job.

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING, BUT SINCE I HAVE RILED SOME HERE LATELY I REMAINED SILENT.
BUT, SINCE SOMEONE SAID SOMETHING.....RODNEY WAS QUALIFIED IN HIS CAR AND THE CAR HE SWITCHED WAS QUALIFIED FOR A SPOT BY ANOTHER. SO, IF THEY SWITCHED DRIVERS, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN JUST LIKE IF A GUY GOT TO THE TRACK LATE. THE DASH SHOULD HAVE HAD AN ALTERNATE CALLED, AND RODNEY SHOULD'VE RUN THE SEMI(IF THEY HAD ONE) OR TAG ONTO THE REAR OF THE FEATURE. IF THEY WERE GOING TO PUT HIM ON THE REAR OF THE FEATUREANYWAY , THERE WAS NO SENSE IN HIM RUNNING THE DASH OTHER THAN TO GET FAMILIAR WITH THE CAR. BUT, THERE WAS THE RISK OF INTERFERING WITH OTHERS THOUGH.

YES HE DID AT THE 1ST I55 SPORTSMAN NATIONALS(NOT A REGULAR SHOW). IF I REMEMBER CORRECT, THEY GAVE 1 OR 2 PROMOTERS PROVISIONALS IN THAT SHOW. SINCE PAUL'S CAR BROKE AND WAS OUT HE GOT ONE(I ASSUME SINCE HE WAS TRACK CHAMPION AND RIGHTLY SO) AND DOUG KIM GAVE HIM HIS RIDE. HE STARTED DEAD LAST ON THE FIELD AND CAME THROUGH AND WON!!!!!!! IN THE DODGE!!!!!!!

TROY DOES HAVE THAT CAR BACK. THATS WHY HE'S SO FAST!!!!!
 
I forgot about the possible provisional. OPPS!!! But he did move that car to the front in GRAND style. That's that IMPRESSIVE CAR I believe.
Hasn't there been times esp at the end of the year where some of the guys get tore up then they basically borrow or buy a ride for the feature. How does that work? Thinking in hind sight if there is not enough cars to qualify a full field anyone could race I guess. It will be interesting to see how the other tracks do it.. And I will make sure I keep a watch out for it. ;)

Drifter what is wrong with getting people riled up every now and then. It's not like you bash the drivers or their pitcrews. Controversy is great unless someone can be harmed by it and you have never done that. Come on you want a piece of me :mad: :eek: ;) :D :D

PITDRIFTER I don't wish to argue with anyone at all, but I do believe the advantage to Rodney running in the dash and not a semi was POINTS. In the Heats, Dash and Consi only the top 4 gets points. I am sure it was assumed (and I could be wrong) that yes Rodney could get points for the semi but he would not have started in the first three rows, he would started much further back. So the advantage for him to run the dash for a better starting spot for more points. Now please don't take this wrong, as I am sure someone will.

I don't personally know Melvin, everytime I want to meet him, he is gone before the races are over, and I am sure that is because they run to many classes at Mt Vernon, but I have seen him race and I have no problem with him and I will not say he cannot drive, never have, but I will say he is favored at Mt. Vernon but yes it was a good call to put him in the back if he spun someone out. Only right. I wish Melvin would stay around after the races so fans could get to know him and those who do not know him should not bash or judge him. I am sure most of the people who bash drivers don't even know the driver and most of the opinion comes from heresay. My best friends does not like Melvin but why, because of what she has "HEARD" not what she "KNOWS". Thanks-Danny
