LEXINGTON, KY--One of the fastest growing modified sanctioning bodies, the NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series gets back into racing action this Saturday Night, June 19 as the series runs its sixth race of its inaugural season with a first ever visit to the "Action Track" the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY. The $1500 to win Lucas Oil A-Main event will top off the night for the BoB modifieds with a complete program of Racing Optics Time Trials, Crown Spray Power Heat races and the O'Reilly Auto Parts B-Mains all setting the stage for the main event.
In the first five events of the 2004 season Kentucky's Premier Open Wheel Modified Sanctioning Body as seen four different event winners with some outstanding racing to go with healthy car counts. Jimmy Payne of Glasgow, KY is the only driver to win more than one NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Modified event this season winning at Soggy Bottom Speedway in Morgantown, KY and the most recent event at the 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY. Other drivers winning this year on the touring series include Brent Londeree of Columbus, IN at the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY, the 2003 UMP Modified Champion, Ricky Arms of Moss, TN who won at the Clinton County Speedway in Alpha, KY and Kelly Warren of Columbia, KY who was victorious at the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY.
Pit gates will open at 3 pm at Richmond this coming Saturday. Richmond Raceway is located 1 and half miles north on Greens Crossing Road off of State Road 52.
