NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series in 4th Annual Mod Squad Bash at Bluegrass Speedway on Saturday, May 29

Bardstown, KY-May 24, 2004- Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY will be in action this Saturday night, May 29, as the NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series makes its first ever appearance at the ½ mile high banked Nelson County dirt oval.

The Modified division will highlight the racing program this week, with a complete program of Racing Optics time trials, Crown Spray Power heats, O’Reilly Auto Parts B Mains, and the 30 lap, $1,500 to Lucas Oil Products A-Main 4th Annual Mod Squad Bash. Two-time and defending Modified division track champion Josh Lucas of Bardstown, KY is the defending champion of this event, which has ran as an unsanctioned events in the previous three editions of the event. Also on the the racing program Saturday will be a regular show for Late Models, paying $1,000 to win, Sportsman, racing for $200 to win, and Street Stocks, racing for $100 to win.



Start times are normal for this event as pit gates will open at 4:00, with main gates opening at 5:00. Drivers meetings are at 6:00, with hot laps set for 6:30. Time trials are around 7:00, with racing for the green flag at 8:00. All times are EDT. This is a special event, with adult general admission $15, with children ages 6 to 12 being $8, and children ages 0 to 5 are free with a paid adult. Pit passes for this event will be $30.



Bluegrass Speedway last raced on May 22 with Tim Tungate of Campbellsville, KY winning the Jerry Rucker Memorial Late Model feature event, Joe Gray of Cecilia, KY in Modifieds, Track Hack of Morgantown, KY in Sportsman, and Michael Coontz of Hustonville, KY in Street Stocks.



The current points leaders in each division at Bluegrass Speedway heading into the May 22 racing events are Joey Daniel of Liberty, KY in Late Models, Joe Gray of Cecilia, KY in Modifieds, Bo Wilson of Bloomfield, KY in Sportsman, and Mike Bailey of Clarksville, IN leads the Street Stocks.



Bluegrass Speedway is owned by Charles Hamilton and promoted by David and Anita Ferrell. It is located at the intersection of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway and Highway 31-E.
