The O’Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Invades Bluegrass Speedway for 7th Annual Spring Sizzler on April 24

Bardstown, KY-April 19, 2004- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell proudly present the 7th Annual Spring Sizzler for Late Models this Saturday night, April 24, at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY.

The event will be points race number three of the 2004 O’Reilly Auto Parts NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts championship campaign and will be 30 laps in distance and will pay the winner $3,000 for the 15 mile sprint around the high banked ½ mile clay oval located just minutes from beautiful and historic Bardstown, KY. The event will feature a complete show of hot laps, time trials, heats, consies, and the 30 lap, $3,000 to win Spring Sizzler feature event for the O’Reilly Auto Parts NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series. Don O’Neal of Martinsville, IN is the two-time and defending champion of this event, as “The Real Deal” won the 2003 event with a turn two last lap pass of Kevin Claycomb to score the victory. Providing support division action for this event will be the Modifieds and Sportsman, as the Street Stocks have the night off.



Activities for the April 24 Spring Sizzler at Bluegrass Speedway will see things start one hour earlier than normal. Pit gates will open at 3:00, with spectator gates opening at 4:00. A mandatory drivers meeting will go at 5:00, with hot laps set for around 5:30. Time trials will begin around 6:00, with racing set for the green flag at 7:00. Ticket prices for this event are $15 for adult general admission, $8 for children ages 6 to 12, and free to kids under age 6 with a paid adult. Pit passes for this event will be $30.



Bluegrass Speedway began its 2004 race season last weekend and last week’s feature winners and current division points leaders are Tim Tungate of Campbellsville, KY in Late Models, Benji Lee of Raywick, KY in Modifieds, Kevin Wilson of Versailles, KY in Sportsman, and Johnny Cecil of Loretto, KY in Street Stocks.



Bluegrass Speedway is owned by Charles Hamilton and promoted by David and Anita Ferrell. It is located at the intersection of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway and Highway 31-E. Bluegrass Speedway is also affiliated with The Contingency Connection Program for the 2004 racing season as well.
