Seats going fast for Kasey’s King of Sedalia on Wednesday at Missouri State Fair Speedway

SEDALIA, Mo. - June 10, 2010 - Finding anybody more passionate about Sprint Car racing than superstar Kasey Kahne is nearly impossible. He grew up competing on dirt tracks in the Pacific Northwest and followed the road to the bright lights of NASCAR.

He hasn't forgotten what launched his career, either, and where some of the most exciting racing action still is today. Through his Kasey Kahne Racing team, Kahne has two touring World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series teams, including the #91 Great Clips car driven by Paul McMahan and the #9 Budweiser car that Joey Saldana has poised atop the championship standings in hopes of delivering Kahne his first World of Outlaws crown.

Now Kahne is promoting World of Outlaws events, too, including Wednesday's Kasey's King of Sedalia Presented by Budweiser at Sedalia's Missouri State Fair Speedway, which recently announced it will run only special events this year. It's just another way Kahne is giving back to the community that set him on his way.

In fact, Kahne will even climb into his own Sprint Car and take on the World of Outlaws, and he hasn't missed a beat behind the wheel on dirt. In March at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn., Kahne shattered the track record by turning a lap at 140.378 mph in time trials. How will he fare on the Sedalia half-mile against drivers like legendary Steve Kinser, four-time champion Donny Schatz, or three-time runner-up Jason Meyers? Kahne definitely is thrilled by going wheel-to-wheel with legends like Kinser or Missouri native Danny Lasoski, but he also has to contend with his own team of Saldana and McMahan in the most competitive season in World of Outlaws history.

Wednesday night's event will kick off with Kahne meeting fans who purchased advance tickets, which are only $29 for adults and $9 for children. Adult tickets increase to $35 on the day of the show Wednesday. Tickets can be purchased directly from the World of Outlaws by going to http://www.worldofoutlaws.com/tickets or by phone at 704-795-7223.

Kasey's King of Sedalia Presented By Budweiser will be the third of four legs in the Showdown for the Bud Crown. After the first two events at Volunteer Speedway, the Showdown for the Bud Crown championship battle is tight. Steve Kinser finished second and fifth at Volunteer and is leading the unique mini-series by seven points over Jason Meyers, who won the second night of the Showdown. The top five drivers - Kinser, Meyers, Brad Sweet, McMahan and Lasoski - are separated by only 30 points. Saldana, who won Round One at Volunteer, is 13th in the standings after suffering a hand injury in a flip during the feature in the second round.

The Showdown to the Bud Crown finale will be July 8 at LaSalle Speedway in north-central Illinois between Chicago and the Quad Cities.
