Team changes
Max Blair:Second-generation Titusville, Pa., driver will attempt the transition from Crates to Supers after landing a ride with John Kennedy and Kennedy Motorsports.
Anthony Burroughs:After spending more than two years crewing for Clint Bowyer Racing and others, the Alabama native climbs back behind the wheel for the team of Louisiana-based David Peterson.
Shane Clanton:Making his third major offseason move in four years, the former Dream and World 100 winner from Zebulon, Ga., has left Kennedy Motorsports to operate his own team with support from Capital Race Cars founder Marshall Green.
Ray Cook:Longtime MasterSbilt driver from Brasstown, N.C., will replace Don O’Neal in Keith and Tadar Masters’ MasterSbilt house car.
Jason Covert:With eight-year car owner Barry Klinedinst retiring, the York Haven, Pa., driver will field a No. 72 car for partners Pete Cameron and Roland and Lisa Mann.
Jonathan Davenport:Former Barry Wright house car driver, along with his AES Racing team, partner with Kevin and Lee Roy Rumley to pilot the Rumley Enterprises No. 6 Longhorn Chassis out of Bobby Labonte Racing’s Trinity, N.C., shop.
Jared Landers:In the move that made way for O’Neal to join Clint Bowyer Racing, the former Topless 100 winner and Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year left Bowyer’s team to operate his own program out of his hometown of Batesville, Ark.
Mike Jewell:The two-time Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway champion from Scottsburg, Ind., plans to sell out his race team; the 55-year-old will consider driver offers for 2014.
Mike Marlar:After an amicable late-season split with Norman Bryson, the Winfield, Tenn., driver connects with car owner Ronnie Delk, who has fielded cars for Michael Asberry.
Jeremy Miller:The Gettysburg, Pa., driver, 42 announcee his retirement in mid-December..
Don O’Neal:Martinsville, Ind., driver swapped house cars, moving from MasterSbilt to the Barry Wright program at Clint Bowyer Racing.
Brian Shirley:Former UMP Summernationals champ and Knoxville Nationals winner from Chatham, Ill., has joined Harrisburg, Ill.-based Riggs Motorsports, replacing Randy Korte, who plans to field his own team in a final season of racing in 2014.
Jesse Stovall:The former MARS champ from Galena, Mo., sticks with car owners Steve Rushin and Bill Swafford, but officially becomes Midwest house car driver for Bakersfield, Calif.-based Victory Circle Chassis, replacing Billy Moyer.
Chassis changes
Justin Asplin:The Birch Treen, Mo., driver parks his Rocket in favor of Darrell Lanigan’s Club 29 Car.
Brian Birkhofer:Two-time World 100 winner from Muscatine, Iowa, moves to Rocket Chassis, ending his association with the MB Customs Chassis he popularized with Jimmy Mars.
Jonathan Davenport:After many years in Barry Wright cars, the Rumley-AES partnership will put him in a Longhorn Chassis.
Tony Jackson Jr.:The reigning MARS and MLRA champ from Lebanon, Mo., will be among Darrell Lanigan’s first customers for his Club 29 Cars.
Jared Landers:Move from Clint Bowyer Racing to his own program includes a switch from Barry Wright to Rocket Chassis for the Batesville, Ark., driver.
Darrell Lanigan:After long-time success with Rocket Chassis, the two-time Outlaws champion from Union, Ky., teams with chassis expert Ronnie Stuckey to develop a new chassis brand.
Tim McCreadie:The former WoO champion from Watertown, N.Y., returns to Rocket Chassis, parking his Warrior Race Car.
Billy Moyer:After nearly seven years with California-based Victory Circle Chassis, the Batesville, Ark., Hall of Famer moves to Longhorn Chassis, the in-house brand of Bobby Labonte Racing and his driver Earl Pearson Jr.
Billy Moyer Jr.:The Batesville, Ark., driver and 2013 Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year moves to Longhorn Chassis along with his father.
Kent Robinson:The Bloomington, Ill., driver goes with Lanigan’s Club 29 Car, following Lanigan in switching from Rocket.
Rusty Schlenk:The two-time UMP champ from Weston, Ohio, goes to Pierce Race Cars from Lazers.
Brian Shirley:The move to Riggs Motorsports for the Chatham, Ill., driver means a switch from Pierce Race Cars to Rocket Chassis.
Brady Smith:Former Knoxville Nationals winner from Solon Springs, Wis., has moved from Bloomquist Race Cars to Rocket Chassis for the 2014 season and will be a Rocket dealer through Brady Smith Race Cars.
New touring plans
Brian Birkhofer:The Muscatine, Iowa, has tentatively committed to following the NDRL circuit.
Max Blair:Twenty-three-year-old Crate Late Model standout from Centerville, Pa., will chase NDRL’s Rookie of the Year honors after teaming up with Kennedy Motorsports.
John Blankenship:Last year's World 100 winner from Williamson, W.Va., plans to chase the NDRL title along with the Lucas Oil Series he’s run in recent seasons.
Ray Cook:The Brasstown, N.C., driver returns to the Lucas Oil Series after racing regionally in recent seasons.
Jonathan Davenport:Two years after claiming Lucas Oil’s Rookie of the Year Award, the 30-year-old standout plans to run NDRL with the Rumley Enterprises-AES Racing combination out of Bobby Labonte Racing’s shop.
Dennis Erb Jr.:Along with his Lucas Oil Series plans, the Carpentersville, Ill., driver will continue following the NDRL circuit that he also ran in 2013.
Steve Francis:Fresh off a career-best runner-up finish in the Lucas Oil standings, the Outlaws champion from Ashland, Ky., plans to follow both the Lucas Oil and NDRL tours.
Chris Ferguson:The 2013 runner-up on the Ultimate Super Late Model Series plans to follow the NDRL circuit with his Mount Holly, N.C.-based team.
Tim Fuller:After spending the better part of the past seven years on the WoO tour, the John Kennedy-backed driver from Watertown, N.Y., will switch to Kennedy’s NDRL series.
Jason Hughes:The former USMTS champ from Westville, Okla., plans to gun for Lucas Oil rookie honors for Rowland Racing.
Tony Jackson Jr.:The Lebanon, Mo., driver plans to run for NDRL Rookie of the Year.
Greg Johnson:Piloting a Gary Engle-owned Revelution Race Car with help from chassis builder Frank Revel, the Bedford, Ind., veteran is considering NDRL if sponsorship allows the team to improve its motor program.
Billy Moyer Jr.:The Batesville, Ark., youngster plans to follow the NDRL schedule.
Jason Papich:Arroyo Grande, Calif., driver, 34, plans to run for Lucas Oil’s Rookie of the Year honors with his Papich-Toste Racing program after traveling to select Lucas Oil and Summernationals events over the past two seasons.
Kent Robinson:A driver who has spent time on the Lucas Oil and WoO tours, the Bloomington, Ill., racer plans to follow NDRL in 2014.
Brian Shirley:Summernationals veteran plans to chase the Lucas tour with Riggs Motorsports.
William Thomas:The Phenix City, Ala., driver, 2013’s champion on the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series, plans to travel nationally with the NDRL in 2014.
Randy Weaver:The Crossville, Tenn., driver plans to gun for Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year honors in 2014.
Ricky Weiss:A two-time WISSOTA Late Model champion, the 25-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, plans a rookie campaign on the Lucas Oil Series with assistance from former Lucas driver Terry Casey and his wife Lori.
Mason Zeigler:The Chalk Hill, Pa., driver plans to chase NDRL points races.
