Terry Neal of Ely, Iowa picked up his second win of the season after 4 events in the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models Sunday night at Quincy Raceways. Neal grabbed the win over 46 other Late Model drivers as the series set a Quincy Raceways record for Budweiser IMCA Late Model attendance. Neal jumped into the lead at the drop of the green flag pursued closely by Jay Johnson and Lonnie Bailey. Johnson kept the heat on and managed to get by for the top spot on the fourth circuit but Neal maintained his cool and took the top spot back three laps later. Johnson kept the heat turned on and stayed close to Neal until nosed into the second spot on the eleventh lap. Bailey then set sail for the leader and stayed within striking distance over the next 20 laps when the opportunity he had been waiting for arose. Lapped traffic allowed Bailey, the 2005 Quincy Raceways Track Champion to pull to the outside of Neal followed closely by Jay Johnson. Bailey tried in vain to make the pass stick over the next 10 circuits but was unable to get by to take the lead. The caution flag came out with three laps left bringing Bailey and Johnson onto Neal’s tail but Neal held them off to take the win by a car length over Bailey in second, Johnson in third, Darrel DeFrance in fourth and Brent Slocum in fifth. The heat races were won by DeFrance, Ron Gustaf, Slocum, Neal and Bailey. The B-Mains went to Chris Richard and Gary Russell with Bailey taking the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash.

Multi-time Quincy Raceways A-Modified Track Champions, Henry Delonjay took the opening points race of 2005 Sunday night. Delonjay grabbed the lead from Michael Long on the 12th lap and held Long at bay for the rest or the 20 lap main event. Long settled for second with Gary Wilson in third, Robbie Warner in fourth and Ted Allen in fifth. Allen and Delonjay were the heat race winners with Allen grabbing the win in the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash.

Adam Birck took the lead away from Eddie Dieker on the 7th lap of the Bomber main event and went on to take the first points feature win of the season. Steven Watkins Jr. settled for second with Steve Carlin in third, Jerry Jansen in fourth and Eddie Dieker in fifth. Dieker and Carlin were the heat race winners.

The B-Modified main event had to postponed until the first event next week after the lights in turn 3 and 4 went out and it would have taken too much time to fix the problem. Tony Dunker, Wyatt Lance and Terry Houston were the heat race winners.

Up next at Quincy Raceways will be weekly points racing for all divisions except the Budweiser IMCA Late Models whose points season starts on April 24. All four divisions will be in action with a draw redraw format. Gates open at 4 with Hot Laps at 5:45 and racing at 6:30pm.
