I am needing some help on valve lashing the motor is a 350 4 bolt. with a elgin solid lifter. and roller tip rockers. if any body could me I need to know how to lash them cold and the order. Thanks Tim Camren

just follow with your timming order. Start with #1 at TDC. set your valve lash. Most recommend to do the lash at running temp. JMO

everybody has their own favorite way to do this. the absolute best way is to do each valve individually. by this i mean rotate the engine over by hand, with a socket on the crank pulley/harmonic balancer bolt until the valve is at full open. rotate the crank 1 full turn(mark the crank pulley with a chalk mark); this made the cam go 1/2 turn, and now the lifter is riding on cam base circle, or 180 degrees off of lobe. set that valve to cam maker's specs. do each valve like that. take your time, do each valve like that. that is the best way. like i said, everyone on here has their favorite method, and they all work.if you don't have cam maker's specs, go .016 on the intake, and .018 on the exhaust. you can go up to .002 looser, but not tighter. setting valve clearance on the loose side of specs will make the car come off the corner better.
