CARTERSVILLE, GA – Two weeks away from the halfway point of the 2014 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies season, Week 13 action begins with a wide open battle for the National Championship. There will be seven Week 13 races in four different states over the weekend.
Week 13 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition begins with a pair of Friday night races at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS and at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL.
Saturday night NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 13 races are scheduled for Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.
Among the drivers in the Top 20 of the point standings, only three have what history would consider a high enough Weekly Point Average (WPA) of 46 or higher to be a title contender. With that said, it is still highly possible for a competitor to start their season this weekend, and still have a shot to win the 2014 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Championship.
Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS continues to lead the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 532 points after 12 weeks of racing, and has the fifth highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings at 44.33 out of a possible 50. David Windham of Florala, AL is second in the standings with 522 points earned over 12 weeks and has the tenth highest WPA at 43.5.
Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS is third in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 518 points earned over 11 weeks of racing and has the second highest WPA at 47.09. Mike Lane of Pace, FL is fourth with 474 points earned over 11 weeks of racing.
Dean Shaw of Defuniak Springs, FL is fifth in the standings with 440 points earned over ten weeks of racing and has the seventh highest WPA at 44. Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS and James “Scooter” Ware of West Point, MS are tied for the sixth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 423 points apiece.
Whittington has earned his 423 points in nine weeks of competition and is a title contender with the third highest WPA at 47. Ware took ten weeks to earn his 423 points. Garrett McDonald of Pace, FL is eighth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 399 points earned over nine weeks, and has the fifth highest WPA at 44.33.
Phillip Haynes of Anniston, AL is ninth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 395 points earned over ten weeks of competition. Michael Williams of Saucier, MS rounds out the Top 10 of the standings with 389 points earned over nine weeks of racing.

Three other drivers in the second ten of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings are among the Top 10 on the WPA list. Josh Kimmons of Jay, FL is 14[sup]th[/sup] in the standings with 349 points earned over eight weeks of racing and has the eighth highest WPA at 43.62.
Tyler Hurst of Lineville, AL is 17[sup]th[/sup] in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 319 points earned in seven weeks of competition, and has the fourth highest WPA at 45.57. Stacy Herron of Kiln, MS is 18[sup]th[/sup] in the standings with 305 points earned in seven weeks of racing and has the ninth highest WPA at 43.57.
Drivers that race at NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals during the 27-week season that runs through September 28. The 2014 NeSmith/AR Bodies National Champion will pocket $2,000 and the National point fund pays back to the Top 10 drivers at the end of the season.
