CARTERSVILLE, GA – Mother Nature played a key role in shuffling up the Top 10 of the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies point standings after Week 7 competition. Four of the seven races on the schedule were rained out, and three got to run. Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS remains on the top of the points list.

Three NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races were held on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. Drivers competing at those tracks were able to improve their spots in the point standings.

The Friday night NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division race at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, and the Saturday night races at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL were rained out. Many of those drivers were forced to take the weekend off.

Leftwich finished outside the top ten on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park, but still earned 41 points to bring his NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point total to 314. In seven races, Leftwich has four top five finishes and five top ten finishes driving the STR Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,195 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

Scooter Ware of West Point, MS drove the Peay’s Auto Salvage Chevrolet to a third-place finish on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park and climbed up to the second spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 293 points. Ware has two wins, four top five finishes and five top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks.

David Windham of Florala, AL is third in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 291 points after two top five finishes and five top ten finishes in seven races driving the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet. Windham finished out the top ten on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway, but still earned 41 points.

Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS drove the Performance Bodies “throwback” 1957 Chevrolet to an eighth-place finish on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park and is now fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 281 points. Idom has four wins, six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks.

Clint Vaughn of Odenville, AL did not compete in NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 7 competition and dropped to fifth in the standings with 260 points. Vaughn has six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in seven races over six weeks driving the Vinson Race Engines Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

Dean Shaw of Defuniak Springs, FL drove the Shaw Racing Chevrolet to a fifth-place finish on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway and vaulted up to the sixth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 259 points. Shaw has one win and five top five finishes in six races.

Mike Lane of Pace, FL did not compete in Week 7 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition and dropped to the seventh spot in the standings with 250 points. Lane has three wins, six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in seven races over six weeks driving the Lane Vinyl Siding Chevrolet.

Kevin Whittington of Brandon, FL drove the Ergon, Inc. Chevrolet to his fourth NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park, which put him back into the top ten of the standings in the eighth spot with 244 points. Whittington has four wins and five top ten finishes in five races.

Phillip Haynes of Anniston, AL took the weekend off thanks to Mother Nature and fell to ninth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 230 points. In seven races over six weeks, Haynes has five top five finishes driving the Jeff Owens & Associates Chevrolet.

Tyler Hurst of Lineville, AL had his winning streak dampened by Mother Nature, and he also did not compete in Week 7 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition. That dropped Hurst to the tenth spot in the standings with 229 points after five wins and six top five finishes in six races driving the NSC Heating and Air Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

In other NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 7 action, the defending NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Champion Trey Bright of Coker, AL took his first win of the season on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway driving the Eaton Clinic/AR Bodies Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.
