NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS ANNOUNCES 25-RACE 2010 NATIONAL TOURING SCHEDULE

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series has announced its 25-race 2010 National Touring Schedule. The series will compete in 23 point races and two non-points races at 15 different tracks in five different states over 14 different weekends.

Six tracks in Mississippi will host 13 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring events over eight weekends, Alabama and Florida will each host four events, while Georgia and Tennessee will each host two events. The 2010 NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Tour opens on January 23 at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS with the 10th Annual Winter Classic.

Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS will host four NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National races in 2010 with the second race of the season on February 12-13 with the Winter Bash. The series returns to WMP events on May 14, May 15, and September 3-4 under the direction of NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS Promoter of the Year, RPM National Promoter of the Year finalist Rodney Wing.

East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL will also present four NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS events in 2010 with Rounds three, four and five on February 18, 19, and 20 respectively. The series will once again conclude its season at East Bay Raceway Park with the non-points $10,000-to-win 6th Annual NeSmith Chevrolet World Championship Race on December 10-11.

Four tracks will each host two NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS races in 2010. Along with the season opener, Columbus Speedway will also present the non-points Possum Town Grand Prix on November 27. Its sister track, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will have a pair of Sunday races on August 1 and September 5.

Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS will return to the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Tour for the second straight season with a pair of races on April 9 and July 31. Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona, MS is one of three new tracks on the National Tour, and they present two events on April 30 and May 1.

Five tracks are returning to the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National schedule for single events during the 2010 season. Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will host the richest point race of the season on September 17-18 with the $10,000-to-win Dega 100.

Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS has scheduled a NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Touring show for April 10. Penton Raceway in Penton, AL and East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL will return for Memorial Day Weekend events on May 28 and May 29 respectively.

Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, TN is on the 2010 slate for July 9-10, and will be joined on July 8 by a track to be announced. North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL is on the schedule for a July 30 race.

Two Georgia tracks will appear on the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour for the first time in 2010. New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA will round out the Memorial Day Weekend events with a race on May 30, and Dublin 441 Speedway in Dublin, GA will host an Independence Day two-day event on July 2-3.

“We are still working on filling some open dates in the middle and later part of the season, and we could come close to having as many as 30 races this season,” NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Founder and Director Mike Vaughn said. “We are proud to be associated with the tracks we have on our 2010 schedule, and we feel these are some of the premier tracks in the Southeast. There more great tracks out there and we’re working towards getting them on our schedule.”
