CARTERSVILLE, GA – NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series officials have announced a date change for their 2008 National Touring schedule, as the $10,000-to-win 100-lap Cajun Spring Nationals has moved to April 25-26. The date change was made in an effort of NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS sanctioned tracks working together.

The original date conflicted with the 16th Annual James King Memorial Race at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS on April 11-12. NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS Founder and Director Mike Vaughn, Pike County Speedway Promoter J.F. Gasquet, and Columbus Speedway Promoter Johnny Stokes got together and worked out the date change for the Pike County Speedway event.

“We encourage our promoters to work together in an effort to benefit their tracks and the series,” Vaughn said. “We want to thank J.F. Gasquet at Pike County Speedway for going to extra mile in working with Johnny Stokes at Columbus Speedway in changing his date to not conflict with the James King Memorial Race at Columbus Speedway.”

The Cajun Spring Nationals is currently Round 6 of the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring schedule. The first event of the 2008 season was held on January 5 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL where Royce Bray of Hull, GA was the winner of the Ice Bowl.

Round two will be held at Columbus Speedway on January 26 with the Annual 40-lap $2,500-to-win Winter Classic. Rounds three through five will be at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL with a pair of 40-lap $2,500-to-win races on February 21 and 22, and a 50-lap $3,000-to-win race on February 23.

NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS officials are still working to complete the 2008 National Touring schedule, and will release it within the next few days. For more information about the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series, visit the series web site at www.nesmithracing.com.
