CARTERSVILLE, GA – Eleven events are on the Week 15 schedule of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series with seven races in the East Region and four races in the West Region. The first Week 15 race in the East Region was held on Tuesday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway where Travis Pennington of Winston, GA was the winner.

There are two NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region events on the schedule for Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL and Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, GA. East Alabama Motor Speedway returns for action on Saturday night, along with Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville, TN, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC.

Drivers competing at Mountain Raceway Park will be tuning up for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series $2,500-to-win 50-lap National Touring event at the historic 4/10-mile clay oval on July 18. The NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Tour will open the weekend with a $2,000-to-win 40-lap main event at Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, TN on July 17.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 15 West Region action begins on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS, with Saturday night events scheduled for Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and South Mississippi Speedway in Gulfport, MS.

Looking at the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region driver Event Point Averages, ten drivers with eight or more starts still have an Event Point Average of 40 or above. At this point of the 27-week season, drivers with a higher number of starts tend to be higher in the point standings.

The EPA is a gauge for drivers that may be back in the point standings that still have the potential to make a future impact in the points chase. East Region point leader Scott Knowles of Lanett, AL has the highest EPA at 47.6. Larry Harrod of Plains, GA is second in EPA at 46.2, and he is 15th overall in the East Region standings.

Phenix City, AL drivers Montana Dudley and Terrance Nowell are tied for the third highest EPA in the East Region at 45.7, and are second and eighth respectively in the East Region point standings. Richie Stephens of Phenix City, AL finished second on Tuesday night at EAMS, moved up to 20th in the East Region standings, and has the fifth highest EPA at 45.5.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region Champion Adam Martin of Talladega, AL has the sixth highest East Region EPA at 44.2 and is 16th in the East Region standings. Bobby Eiland of Phenix City, AL is 23rd in East Region points, but has the seventh highest EPA at 42.3

Dana Eiland of Salem, AL has the eighth highest East Region EPA at 41.9, and is fourth in the East Region standings. Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL is 14th in the East Region standings, but has the ninth highest EPA at 41.8. Jerry Goodwin of Eastaboga, AL is 19th in the East Region point standings, but has the tenth highest EPA at 41.3.

There are still 13 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region with eight or more starts that have an Event Point Average of 40 or higher that are still in the running for the West Region title.

The highest West Region EPA belongs to Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS, who is sixth in the West Region point standings, but the 18-year-old driver has an EPA of 47.9. Cooley is also the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring point leader.

Two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion and current point leader Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS has the second-highest West Region EPA at 47.8. Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS is second in the West Region point standings and has the third-highest EPA at 45.6.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS has the fourth-highest West Region EPA at 44.8 and is third in the West Region point standings. Kody Barber of Bogalusa, LA and Tracy Brown of Lumberton, MS are fourth and fifth respectively in the West Region point standings, and are tied for fifth on the West Region EPA list at 44.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS is 16th in the West Region point standings, but has the seventh-highest EPA at 43.9. Cliff Williams of Star, MS has the eighth-highest West Region EPA at 43.6 and is ninth in the West Region point standings.

Randy Boyd of Marion, MS is 17th in the West Region point standings and has the ninth-highest West Region EPA at 43.1. Chase Washington of Houlka, MS is tenth in the West Region point standings and has the tenth-highest EPA at 42.7. Wiley Williams of Stonewall, MS has the 11th-highest EPA at 41.8 and is 19th in the West Region point standings.

Randall Beckwith of Kilmichael, MS has the 12th highest West Region EPA and is also 12th in the West Region point standings. Jason Wilkey of Batesville, AR has the 13th-highest West Region EPA at 40.5 and is 26th in the West Region point standings.
