New Rules At Pevely

I was just wondering if anyone saw the 4J start the feature without finishing his heat or running the semi last weekend? If so is everyone going to be able to do this? Typical passing points.

Results show him 6th in his heat race. There were three heat races and 18 were locked in from heats.

Therefore, with or without passing points, he would of been in the feature without running the semi.

No, everyone is not going to get away with it. Bobby Bittle did not win his heat last weekend, if you read the results. He was penalized one spot for jumping the start.

Bittle should have been penalized more than that. He and Ray Walsh both passed at least three cars before the flag stand. I guess if they can get away with it they will do this every week.

well, maybe they need to start qualifing then. Its not Bittle's or Walsh's fault when there cars are more powerfull and they are starting in the rear of the heat....If the flagman did not like how it started, then he should have thrown the yellow for a restart!!!!!!!......

Being a fan of both Bittle and Walsh I'd have to say that using the excuse of your car being more powerful is just BS. I might be misunderstanding you on this. But I believe that all cars have gas pedals for the reason of controlling the speed of the car. Lineups and starts are meant to be equal and in order. Drivers are reminded on the front straight, turns 1/2, and the back straight to be lined up side by side when they come out of 4, and they've painted the green stripe on the wall in turn 4 to remind the drivers where they can start racing. ALL DRIVERS should be following these protocols regardless of the power of their racecars.

It should also be noted that pill draws are as fair a method for determining lineups as possible. If a driver with a more powerful car has to start in the rear he'll just have to use that power to get to the front. Next week may be different and he'll have the opportunity to start on the pole.

Lets also not forget that starting in the rear with a more powerful car allows the opportunity for having a large passing point count and thus giving the driver the opportunity to start on the front row of the dash and possibly the winning the pole for the feature.

On the initial start, they don't have to wait till the flagstand to pass. When the green flag is waving as the leaders exit turn 4, the race is on.

As far as Bittle he should have been penalized 3 spots instead of one. He is fast but that does not give him the right to jump start two times. They had a restart after he did it the first time but let it go the second. Rules are rules and they need to stick with them not matter who you are.

I always thought the rule was you could pass as soon as they got to the green stripe on the wall of turn 4. The first start bittle passed before it and the second start he passed right after it.

If that is the rule then he was okay the second time.

Hmmm...that is interesting. But, Bittle was penalized one spot, but that was coming to the cone, if I remember.

Thank you Jimmy..... ENUFF SAID!!!!!!!!! POWERFULL OR NOT, GO BITTLE AND STAY IN FRONT WHERE YOU BELONG...........

When you see the green flag on a start you need to hit the gas. The only time you are not allowed to pass before the flagman, is on a restart that is why they use the cone. Bittle, Walsh, or Weber could start in the back, pass every car out there without touching one of them and someone will get on here and cry that they did something wrong. JUST GET OVER IT. Just sit down, Shut up and enjoy some of the best Modified drivers around these parts. Quit crying about them jumping a spot or two. That is a decision the flagman needs to make.

I understand the 4J pulled off on the white flag, thinking the race was over, thus not finishing the race. I think that is what the issue is. If you dont finish, how do you get in the feature without first running the semi and qualifying that way?

Im sure he didnt intend on pulling off the track then, and was an honest mistake, BUT if he did, he should not have been given 6th place in his heat.

What am I missing here?
