Casey Schaeffer moving to a latemodel was just not the right thing to do! I was all about letting her out there to get her seat time which was great, but its just getting scary now. she damn near junked alot of people last night and after talking around i hear everyone is getting tired of it as well. it wasnt so bad before because she was going slow enough on the bottom everyone could just blow by her on the outside but now that she will press the gas pedal, she is all over the track! Somebody is seriously going to get hurt! Now before you all go bashing me listen up. i think she deserves to be out there as much as anyone else but...the blue flag means get out of the way!!

very true.. i think she needs to go back down to a lower class n move up slowly so she can handle all the power a lm can give to her.

I agree! Last year I loved to see her race, but this year she just scares the s**t out of me. She is def. not the only driver I think this about though. There sure are alot of other drivers that need to take a step back!!!!!!

It's not Casey, they just don't have the car right yet. Takes a while to figure out what she likes and get the car to handle for her. Nothing to go by from before because the cars aren't at all the same. Give her some time.

Guess you didnt hear she raced her way into the feature at pevely last week racing with some of the best guys in the area.Congrats to casey and keep it up you made the right move!!

Josh

i think that it is hard to learn on a small track like belleville. she needs to go to bigger tracks for some seat time before she comes to belleville.

sorry to burst your bubble but everyone made the feature last weekend and in the feature she spun out three times then was black flagged

I don't know this young lady, and have never seen her race, but if she has the talent, I say don't let the nay sayers get you down, missy.

I put a young man (14) in a crate late model who I know has more talent than I have money or knowledge on making a car go fast, and he flipped my car 4 or 5 times on the "guard rail from hell" at Mt. Vernon his first time in a feature race. I heard all the BS like he's too young....he needs to be in a street stock first...etc.

He has since won a few races, and didn't let all that get him down. Actually it made him want it more. I don't hear "he doesnt belong" much anymore.

Be honest with yourself and evaluate your own program, and do whats right for you, not what someone else thinks or says.

A guy told me after our bad start that Billy Moyer ran the flagstand down in his first race in a car.

I'd say he got past it.. Don't you?

I thought that the blue flag was a signal that you were about to be passed, or also for you to hold your line because your about to be passed?? I dont know Casey but was just curious on the real meaning of the blue flag since it was mentioned in the first post.

Well put. Belleville is a tight racy track. Give her time guys..geesh. If she didnt deserve to be there..im sure an official would have told her that

the blue flag DOES NOT mean move over it means hold your line.Give her a break she is learning everytime she gets out there and they are learnig about the car too

I couldn't be more prouder of Casey and her Late Model. The season is young and it takes time for a driver to get adjusted to a new car. Isn't that why thet are called rookies. I just wish people on here weren't so critical of her driving. Belleville is a tight track to race on. I'm sure come mid season championships she will be there beating the socks off the other drivers, making them eat her dust. In the words of the famous "Speed racer" Go Casey Go.

I think Casey should go run at like tri city and pevely or just go to pevely cuz belleville is to hard for a beginner to race at cuz it is so small.

casey

you go get em casey it will take her time just like alot of people learning i aint seen any races at belleville this year but as a purestock driver she was good so give her time if your that good blow bye her an help teach her an give her seat time

my own personal opinion on situations such as this is; unless you are a driver, or have driven before, keep your yap shut until you can show you can do better. it's real dam e-z to criticize, and not so e-z to get out there and do it. in 1958, a young man from texas jumped in a sprint car for the 1st time, and promptly put it over the fence. a real experienced owner and mechanic told him as he lay on the stretcher, being loaded in the ambulance"kid, you ain't got what it takes; go do something else". wanna know that kid's name? a.j. foyt.

schulte seems to think that everyone needs to pull over for him snd let him go.the first heat race his instantly ran her over she chose to go to the back, good move.then after the dash hes revving his engine making gestures at standridge guess he doesnt know how to drive either??watch him next week to see who he and his crew blames for not winning next week.

I watched her for quite a while last night, and I think she is definitely getting better. There were a lot of times when she was trying to stay out of the way of the oncoming cars. I saw car 12 push under her and she sort of got hung out to dry. Problem is, with a track like belleville with two grooves, you're in the way either way. The leaders had as much trouble getting around other lapped cars as hers.

Actually, I think a lot of the problem at Belle-Claire is that some of the leaders don't know how to get around lapped traffic. :)

One day, when she's winning features, her crew and supporters will look back on these days with a laugh.

20 Rocks

Were U at the same races as I on Friday night??
Seems to me that DIXON had a problem with nudging Casey a little bit and that DIXON can not stand racing in the back around other cars when he is used to being in front. Well, guess what....seems to me that DIXON drove over Schulte's nose to get around Casey so who's the experienced driver now??? DIXON is the one who uses his car 4 a BULLDOZER!
