"NSCHoF&M/Southern Supermodified Racers' Reunion Honoring J.D. Parker" to Come Alive at Hattiesburg

“NSCHoF&M SOUTHERN SUPERMODIFIED RACERS’ REUNION HONORING J.D. PARKER” TO COME ALIVE AT HATTIESBURG ON JULY 4


KNOXVILLE, IOWA (June 30, 2015) - The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Musuem in Knoxville, Iowa, is pleased to be able to help support the rescheduled “Southern Supermodified Racers’ Reunion” at the Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on Saturday, July 4, in conjunction with the Southern Outlaw Sprints (SOS). Fans will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with a variety of legendary stars and historic cars right out of the pages of the Mid-South region’s motorsports history book.


Amongst those that have indicated that they will be joining J.D. Parker are Freddy Fryar, “Buddy” Bielarski, “Skip” Manning, Wayne Niedecken, Jr., Dave Mader III, Rick Crawford and Chick Boyd. In addition, author Gerald Hodges and car-builders Johnny Ardis and Andy Anderson will be on-hand.


Amongst the vintage cars that will be on display are J.D. Parker’s #12 CAE sprint car, the #R1 supermodified wheeled by Little 500 Hall of Famer Bill Roynon, the “Buddy” Hebert/Ronald Ellsworth-driven supermodified owned by Mickey Carrier, and the Jake Hatcher supermodified.


Helping coordinate the “National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Southern Supermodified Racers’ Reunion” at the quarter-mile Hattiesburg Speedway on Saturday, July 4, is historian and author Tony Martin of Pensacola, Florida. Gates open at 5 p.m., with hot-laps at 7 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. Some of the beautifully restored race cars will make demonstration laps that evening, with driver interviews conducted for the fans in attendance.
